We an Epson 11880 and we are having problems sending print jobs over our network. Both our rips can see the printer and even the Epson Remote panel gets the info from the printer, ink levels, paper loaded and so on. But as soon as we send a command to the printer it will not do anything.....

    We resolved this issue by restoring the NV RAM from a previous backup.

We are having same type of problem - sending print jobs from two separate Fiery XF systems that are verified working AOK with other printers. My guess is a service call is required to replace the LAN card or logic board. How did you resolve this?

Most likely this is a problem with windows not the printer

usually the spooler service in one of the windows machine that connects to the printer is stalled or overloaded.

your not likely going to be able to fix this yourself but if i new what version of windows you have i could help

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

That sounds a lot like the print spooler has suffered some kind of problem...

Try the following:

  • Click START > Run
  • Type "MMC" and click OK
  • Click on the "File" menu then "Add/Remove Snap-in"
  • Click on "Add..."
  • Select the "Services" snap-in and then click "Add"
  • Select "Local Computer" and then click "Finish"
  • Click "Close" and "OK"
  • Select the "Services (Local)" line
Tip: This is the same thing as going to Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Services

From here you:
  • locate the "print spooler" service
  • Right click and choose "Restart"
This will restart the print spooler.

If the spooler is the problem you should be able to send a print job to the printer and it should now start printing.

If not then the chances are this is either a port misconfiguration or a driver error in which case you should try:
  • unplugging the printer (leave it unplugged for now)
  • uninstalling the drivers and software for your printer,
  • restarting your computer
  • download the latest drivers from the epson website
  • install these newest drivers (plug in the printer when prompted to do so)
If the port was misconfigured this SHOULD solve the issue but there's no guarantees... If you're still having issues, post again and we'll go from there..

Blink alternately or not? If alternately, the message is not "general error". but "service required" It's true to reset waste ink counter. But, i think it's not service required. when trun on printer ready? But when start to print red lights blink at same time? Problem with chip at ink tank. Check connector at chip and at head carriage. It's may be dirty, and not good connection. try to use another chip.

We have a spooling problem. The sharp mx-2300n just says "ripping" and 20% complete but won't move from there and print anything. Can cancel print job from Mac but won't stop anything at the printer end....

Go into the Job review mode and highlight the pending print job (note: it may be stuck in processing). You should then get the option to delete the job.

Make sure that the pending print job is also cleared from the network print queue. They can sit in the queue and be persistent on processing, even after you've cleared the copier. Clear the queue prior to deleting the job on the copier.

If this doesn't, disconnect the copier from your network and try the above steps again, then reboot the copier and reconnect it to your network.

If you're trying to print out Adobe-based web pages from the internet, this may be what's causing your copier to jam up. There's known coding anomalies with Adobe-embedded documents on web pages. Trying to directly print from the web page can stall or lock up the print process.

Epson printer won't print

I have a lexmark t644 printer and have an error code of 900.44 any ideas on how to fix this

  1. If the printer is currently displaying a 900 RIP Software error, power off the printer and leave it powered off for 20 seconds or more. Doing this will clear the printer's memory.
  2. While the printer is off, clear any pending print jobs from the computer or the network queue. This will prevent any corrupted print jobs from being sent to the printer again when it is powered back on.
  3. Power the printer back on.
  4. If the printer goes to the Ready status, try printing again.
  5. If the 900 RIP Software error returns when the printer is powered up or when you try to print, there is a problem with either the printer, the communication cable connecting the printer to the computer, or with the print job itself. Follow the directions below to check each of these components.
    • If the error appears every time you power on the printer, regardless of whether you send a print job or not, the likely source of the problem is the printer or an option installed on the printer.
    • If the error appears only when you send print jobs to the printer, the likely source of the problem is the computer, a setting on the printer, or one of the communication cables.

Quitting job early

Photoshop CS3 only allowes prints till 30.000 pixels in each direction. That's a kind of bug. You can lower your reslotution or buy an expancive RIP.
