I have had the same problem for about 6 months. I have been sticking duct tape on the inside over where my clothes were getting hung/caught. It works :) but the heat makes the duct tape peel off so you have to keep replacing it. We finally had to call a repairman when the drum started making a horrible noise. He came out this morning and said one of the "sliders" the drum rolls on had broken. He said when the sliders begin cracking it can make a very slight gap where the clothes were getting caught. I have run 3 loads this morning and had only one dishtowel get hung whereas before multiple items in each load were doing it. He said there are multiple sliders so it may happen again.

He also said the clothes getting hung was an indication of a breaking slider so you may want to call a repairman to head off your drum doing what mine did. It cost me a total of $105 and I live in SE Texas.

Maytag dryer is leaving black marks or rings on clothes

If your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these: Rollers Rear seal Front glides Front seal Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rollers wear out, you need to replace the whole set. Rear seal Your dryer may have a felt-like seal at the rear of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, clothes can get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rear seal wears out, you need to replace it. Front glides Your dryer probably uses nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the glides wear out, you need to replace them as a set. Front seal Many dryers have a felt-like seal at the front of the drum. Clothes get caught between the drum and the front of the inside nonmovable part of the dryer and we are getting snags of the clothing inside and ruining the clothes

there is suppose to be a felt type piece that goes on the drum to full that gap it may have fell off . its a struggle to put on unless the drum is accessible. you can pop the top of the machine off to get better access.

Grease type substance inside

Hello. I know exactly what is wrong with your dryer.

If your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these:

Rollers
Rear seal
Front glides
Front seal
Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum.

If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, the clothes in the dryer may get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the seal wears out, you need to replace it.

Frigidaire Dryer. Clothes are damaged by either being ripped when caught on dryer drum. Clothes also are marked with hard to remove rub marks.

Open the dryer door. Reach in just inside and feel for the felt seal that goes all of the way around the drum. The culprit is usually the top portion of the seal which supports the end of the drum near the door is worn out. This allows the drum to tip down and leaves a gap at the bottom. Clothes get caught in this gap and get rubbed and marked or rubbed clear through. Remove the front of the dryer and replace the seal. On some models the top 1/3 is replaceable. This portion carries the weight of the drum and is what wears out.

Torn clothes

there should have been a plastic gaurd on the lint catcher inside to keep this from happening, at anytime when taking your clothes out did you find something you might have though how did that get in there> could have been it, or look under the dryer and see if it made it's way out past the drum to the floor

Is this the dcvh515 GE? Mine began doing that and then started making a high pitched scraping noise that sounds like it's coming fron the door gasket/seal.
