First of all with a Casio camera Casio will only guarantee the camera to work with Panasonic, Toshiba and Sandisc memory cards. If it is not one of those three brands I would go buy one of those brands. Make sure you format your memory card with the camera before using it for the first time. As for the other memory card try using a program like cardrecovery.com and see if you can still pull your pictures off that card. I bet they are still there. :)

My camera says the my memory card is locked.?? i dont no how to unlock it My Ixus 70 says my card is locked, but the card is NOT locked (button on the side of the card is in unlock position). The came

Oops. The little latch on the side in the unlock position, should engage a switch in the camera, indicating the memory card is not writ protected. It is not an electrical switch doing something in the memory card. But is the switch in the camera is defect, you get the same result. If someone once tried to press in a memory card, the wrong way around, this could have been the cause of a damaged switch. Just check the memory card slot, of nothing is in the cardholder, blocking the little switch from working correct. Sure the switch is in the up position, like in the picture? 25288825-qj532vtjsqner5bmetfl14fj-5-0.png

Memory card error locked

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Does moving the switch make and difference?

My canon power shot A2000 IS says the card is locked, how do I unlock it

Hi,
The card insert has a tiny tab - you must move it to the unlocked position. You may need to use a magnifying glass it is so tiny. You don't mention the memory card you're using - different brands use different types of tabs - some are on the back - some on the side - some counter sunk.

Memory card error it says card is locked I slid the switch back an forth but still says memory card

I'll include a diagram of the little lock switch so you know the correct position to be able to load pictures to it. Another reason for getting the card locked error is if the memory card hasn't been formatted in the camera it's being used in. Formatting is necessary after downloading pictures to the computer as well.

Inserted 4 GB memory card. new camera trying to take a pic and I keep getting the message card protected.

Memory cards particularly SD or SDHC have an option to protect the files from accidentally deletion. This is done by moving the small part of the memory card to the 'lock or unlock' position. Try to look for this small switch on the side of your memory card.

Sd card locked

Perhaps it is!

Look on the left side of the SD card and move the lever up to the top Write protect OFF down is on.Sometimes when inserting a card the lever catches and moves slightly off the top posotion and is then read as locked.

Memory card error/card locked

It sounds like your card is locked. You need to unlock it. On one of the sides you should see a piece that can move back and forth. Move it from the position it is now to the other side. This should unlock your card. When locked the files are unaccessible to anyone. This also means that files on the SD card cannot be deleted while the switch is in lock position. When the switch is in up-position, then all files located on the card are accessible to anyone, and that files may be deleted from the card.

Good Luck.

Memory card blocked!!

I have the same exact problem with my camera and NOTHING works. Bought a new card, didn't work. Checked and rechecked the card to make sure it isn't locked...didn't work. I have no solution for you but to tell you you are not alone with this problem and it isn't your card or the little slider on your card. It is within the camera.

Unlock card

If the card is locked, you could the steps below:

- Turn off camera
- Remove memory card
- Take a look on the switch of the memory card itself
* If it's at the TOP = card is UNLOCKED
* If it's at the BOTTOM = card is LOCKED

- So, you just have to make sure that the switch is at the top
for the memory card to be UNLOCKED

After doing that, you just have to put back the memory card to your camera and turn on the camera. Try to check if this works.
