Not sure, but Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 95 any more. Many of thier new software specifically excludes compatibility with Windows 95, either due to lagging technology in Win95 or due to forced upgrades. ActiveSync 3.1 is the last sync software version that will work with Windows 95. ActiveSync 3.5 and above are not compatible with Windows 95. Not sure if you can use Version 3.1 with the Axim X5.

It should if you have USB on the W95 machine. ActiveSync is compatable with W95. It worked for me with Outlook 98 on a Win95 laptop synching to a PC2000 PDA (Jornada), however I was using a serial cable.

I have a Dell Axim x5 ith Pocket PC 2002(I know, I know) just want to get this serviceable for my wife to use as a planner. Problem is the active synch 4.5 won't synch the calendar and contacts any ideas?

You must be using Outlook 2000. Outlook express will not work.
Select the "options" button on Activesync and verify that the items you wish to sync are checked.

Sync problem

I assume you use activesync. Check in the options that it is set to synchronise this data. if you have already done this try reinstalling activesync or installing the newest version, 4.0.

Two Axims on the same desktop computer

You can both do it, just not simultaneously - meaning don't sync at the same time. You can set up your own partnership with your own preferences. Using Outlook profiles or Windows XP/2000 user settings, you can even have your own Outlook database to sync against so you don't comingle data. Post back with your OS if you need help getting this set up.

Help active sync will stay in limbo attempting to connect to cradled axim

Does your system detect the handheld? After you connect the cradle or cable to the computer, then you should be prompted to install drivers for the handheld. Make sure that Dell Pocket PC appears in the Device Manager.

USB Sync Cable

I dont' think so. No other PDA does - it would be quite a drain on the USB port. It isn't like powering the tiny LED in an optical mouse.
