Hi

Error code F1 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Kenmore 790.4658 slide in electric range. Oven door locks and will not unlock (followed the reset directions in the manual). I get an F 90 error code. Any suggestions?

this error code refers to a problem with the the eoc or electronic control if you are unable to clear the code you will have to replace the eoc
Manufacturer part number 316418207 is RepairClinic item number 1062435
you can also open the door by taking off the back panel and spining the motor or disconecting the control arm from the the motor might be easier to just spin the motor though If you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks for using Fixya

My oven when turned on goes to F1 and the heat is like broil...only the top burner comes on????

Hello,Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Thanks

F7 code on kenmore oven and beeps what do i do to turn it off

The F7 error code indicates that one or more potentiometers (burner switches) are not connected properly or that you have one or more failed potentiometers.
The specific details of this failure code are provided in the second image below.
This is an excerpt from the technical information for this range.
Normally, a service technician would be needed to conduct the troubleshooting and diagnosis for this type of failure.
If you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely unplug the range and access these potentiometers (54 in the third image example) you may be able to check for loose or broken wires that could be causing this code.
If no loose wires are found, then you will likely need to have a technician find and replace a failed potentiometer.
