Disconnect the hose and reattach the hose connection drain cap, that was removed when the hose was attached. The water will then be diverted into the water collection bucket

Hope this helped you, Tyler and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Dehumidifier manual

Good morning friend, thanks for your post!

Based off what you're explaining it sounds like your Frigidaire dehumidifier might not be leveled. Any time your dehumidifier is not properly leveled water will not drain out the rear but instead into the bucket. I would recommend checking to assure your appliance is leveled. If your dehumidifier is leveled detach the hose to make sure nothing is blocking the water for exiting into the hose. If those steps are unsuccessful and you continue to get water into the bucket please respond back and I can research more information for you. Best of luck. -Matt

Direct drain

2 possibilities: #1The port that you plugged the hose onto need to be drilled so the water can come out and enter the hose. #2 The hose cannot be higher at ANY point than the bucket. Physics rules apply and the water will always fill the lowest point. Keep the hose low or raise the dehumidifier up.

How to set the dehumidityfier to drain through a hose than the bucket

As you're facing the rear of the unit, you will see a drain hose connection with a drain cap in place, don near floor level. Using a garden hose, no longer than 5 feet, remove the drain cap and save for future uses. Connect the garden hose section to the drain hose connection. Roll the dehumidifier to within 5 feet of a floor drain and place the hose at the inner edge of the floor drain. Be use the hose is sloped down and without bends or kinks. Plug the dehumidifier in, turn it ON and set the humidity extraction level at 35 - 40%. Monitor the hose to make sure its draining after 15 minutes of operation.

Keep in mind, the drain hose relies entirely on gravity to drain. It will not drain, if the hose is not sloped it's entire length down from the unit.

To assist you further, I have included a link to your Owner's Manual, that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.danby.com/cms/uploads/products/en_manual/DDR586R%20EFOM.pdf

We have Danby Model DDR557HE-7 and cannot locate our Manual. We need to disconnect hose and have excess water go to bucket. How is this done?? If we had copy of Manual we wld be able to search same...

All Danby dehumidifiers, regardless of the model number operate the same way.
The link below to a 50 pint model should provide all the info you need.

However, I think you'll find that draining into a bucket is not an option. As the hose drain relies entirely on gravity to drain. So, it will not drain down and then up into a bucket. The hose drainage method, is designed to drain into a floor drain or a sump.

Hope this helps you.

The humidifier is working but the water is going inside the appliance and not in the bucket?

The drain hole or tubing that goes into the bucket is clogged. To solve this, you will 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire Coat Hangers) that is appropriately sized to fit into the hole. To access this drain hole or tubing, remove the bucket and look in above where the bucket came out. You will see a hole or plastic tubing. Insert the Zip Tie carefully and work it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You must gingerly work it past this bend and continue pushing it in, until it either bottoms out or your run out of workable Zip Tie. Then while rotating it, slowly pull it out and be prepared for some water to follow.

That should solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

My Danby dehumidifier leaks out of the bottom. Water not draining into the tank but around the tank therefore out of the bottom between the tank and the dehumidier itself

The drain tube or hole that drains into the bucket is probably clogged.

Turn the unit OFF and remove the bucket. Look in the cavity where the bucket was removed for a drain tube or drain hole. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (No wire coat hangers) , that's appropriately sized to fit in the hole. Carefully feed the ZIP Tie into the hole or tube and thread it as far as you can. At some point the drain will curve, but you have to carefully get past this point. Once the Zip Tie has reached as far as it can, slowly pull it out while rotating it. This will loosen the clog. Once you have it half way out, be prepared for water to follow. This method should solve the problem.

Danby ddr7009ree - continuous drain won't work

I have the same Danby unit and the same problem. When you take out the water bucket look inside and find the two holes where the water drips into the bucket. These holes are approximately 5/16" and 3/8" diameter. These holes need to be plugged. Your local hardware store has an assortment of specialized parts boxes. Find the box that contains "corks" of various sizes. They sell for about 20¢ apiece. I bought 5 within that size catagory and two of them worked! Problem solved.

Bucket fills instead of going down the drain

You may have an unintentional trap in the line (an up and down up and down. Hose has to lay flat on floor to drain.

Danby continuous water flow will not work on a dehumidifier it still fills the bucket

Please try the following:
1) Remove the bucket.
2) You will notice a round outlet/spout where the water drips from into the bucket.
3) Remove the plug from the backside of the unit (you will now see a hole to the bucket area).
4) Feed a hose through the hole from the back and attach the end of the hose to the round outlet/spout.
5) Place the other end of the hose on a floor drain outlet.
6) Put the bucket back into the unit.

When the unit is turned on, the water will now flow through the hose instead (into the floor drain). When you want to use the bucket again to capture the water, you will need to remove the hose.

I hope that helps.
