Question about Epson PhotoPC 600 Digital Camera
I'm having a problem setting up the camera on my Gateway computer. What should I do?
Your PC serial port is possibly not setup properly causing it to not recognize the camera. Gateway has information concerning their special COM A port on some model computers and how to set it up properly for external devices. Basically, you need to hit F1 at boot to enter the BIOS setup utility. Go to Advanced / Peripheral Configuration / Serial Port 2 then hit Enter. Then Disable. Go to Serial Port 1 Address and hit Enter. Change it to Com 2 (2F8h). Save the settings and exit. After Windows 95 boots, go to Control Panel / System / Device Manager / Ports and delete the serial port 2 with the (!) -- exclamation mark. Go back to Ports and select Properties for Com 2 / Port Settings and change the speed to 38400. Now go into Easy Photo...select Com2, and set the speed to 38400. Test the camera by downloading the snapshots.

Hi,
Try this,press function(Fn) and the
power up button/down button. that will fine tune the middle setting your
laptop. the middle setting is one of 3 settings, you need to press function and
f8 to switch between lowest, middle, and high. the middle setting can be any
setting you like and will be the default setting when you use your computer
with a chord or without it.
Thank You
