Question about Kodak EasyShare CX7300 Digital Camera

Faulty SD card

I purchased one of these little digicams for my 5 year old son, and he loves it. He took 186 pictures on Christmas day - perhaps 3 or 4 are woth printing. But 75% of the time the camera fails to recognize the Lexar SD card and wants to reformat. But the reformat fails, so I shut the camera off and re-insert the card. It eventually works, but it often takes more than one attempt. Any quick fixes or suggestions?

First try formatting the memory card in your PC and then try again. If that fails, purchase a new memory card of a different brand / manufacturer.

I need a poem four my son that passed away 13 years ago today

Sorry for your loss, we should never forget. I have 3 sons, and to lose any would kill me too I think.

By Deborah Robinson -

"I only have a picture now,
A frozen piece of time,
To remind me of how it was,
When you were here, and mine.

I see your smiling eyes,
Each morning when I wake,
I talk to you, and place a kiss,
Upon your lovely face.

How much I miss you being here,
I really cannot say,
The ache is deep inside my heart,
And never goes away.

I hear it mentioned often,
That time will heal the pain,
But if I'm being honest,
I hope it will remain.

I need to feel you constantly,
To get me through the day,
I loved you so very much,
Why did you go away?

The angels came and took you,
That really wasn't fair,
They took my one and only Son,
My future life. My heir.

If only they had asked me,
If I would take your place,
I would have done so willingly,
Leaving you this world to grace.

You should have had so many years,
To watch your life unfold,
And in the mist of this,
Watch me, your Mum grow old!

I hope you're watching from above,
At the daily tasks I do,
And let there be no doubt at all,
I really do love you.

I have a Driodx. i just got it for christmas, never had a problem with it.. but today it had this little thing on the status bar telling me blank sd card. ive took out my battery a couple of times and the...

Purchase a USB SD card reader and put your SD card in it and plug that into a USB port on your PC. You can then transfer your pictures to a new folder in your Pictures folder on your PC.

See Universal Memory Card reader: http://cgi.ebay.com/23-IN-1-USB-2-0-MEMORY-CARD-READER-CF-MS-XD-SD-/390284020936?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal&hash=item5adebd8cc8

After verifying the pictures transferred OK to your PC, place the SD card back into your phone and format it. Once formatted, you can transfer your pictures from your PC back to your SD card.

Unrecognized format

It sounds like your SD card might be faulty.
It is very unfortunate since the only thing that can help this is to format the card, which will delete the information on the card.

Before formatting I would try to transfer the pictures using a card-reader or go to a shop to see if they are able to retrieve the pictures for you.

Instructions to format the SD card:

Press OK

If card indicates "Format Card" will I lose the pictures I took?

Memory cards are not made to hold pictures permanently. Like any stored data, they can be glitched and then you've lost the data. You should always copy them to the computer hard drive AND make a backup or 2. Even CDs can go bad. All my pictures are stored at least 2 but sometimes 3 places. Perhaps there is a way to retrieve the data, but I do not know how. Contact the manufacturer and see it they can help... but I'm afraid you've lost them.

Memory card sd

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

It would seem that you would have to do it all over again, that is download the pictures again to the SD memory card. But before doing this, you would need to format the SD card using the digicam rather than the PC.

In some cases, it maybe that the picture files (downloaded from the computer) does not match the image property requirements of the digicam so that even if the image files are stored in the SD memory card, the camera is unable to list/view them

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
