Hello, I bought last september a canon IXY 10S in Japan. I've encountered big trouble during my holiday last week. It simply doesn't want to switch on. The camera doesn't react when i try to switch on, just as if the battery was removed ( dubble checked, the battery was well inside and fully loaded). What can I do? shoul I send it back to Japan? TRY THIS! Had the exact same problem/error message. I had purchased a second Li-ion battery a while back and put the new one in as a lark. It fixed the problem. It's a cheap possible fix worth trying.

I had the same problem, just download this Models SD 960 IS manual from the American Canon site.
it is exactly the same camera only it's sold in the US :)
