Synching Vx handheld w/ Palm desktop 4.1 AND Outlook 2k?

I installed PocketMirror Pro3.16 which worked fine except that I find you cannot have two conduits going at the same time, apparantly. In other words, how do I make it so that I can sync my handheld to my Palm desktop and then sync the desktop to Outlook 2K, or vice versa? Sorry if this has been covered before but I don't see it. Thanks.

Are you trying to get your data in both Palm Desktop and Outlook? Are you saying that you wish your data to synch three ways - between your handheld + Outlook + Palm Desktop. This is not an entirely tenable strategy as it is impossible for synchronization software to understand what it would mean if you altered the same event in both Palm Desktop and in Outlook. If you need to keep a copy of your data in Palm Desktop, PocketMirror has an advanced feature for making onetime backup copies. Open the Chapura Settings dialog, choose your username and then tap on Settings. You will get the option for each of the Outlook conduits to make a one time backup of your data to Palm Desktop. This is a really useful feature for making sure you have an offline copy of your data outside of Outlook.

Switch from outlook to palm desktop

Remember to change (HotSync, Custom) settings before you perform your sync or else you will get duplicate records as I did. Good luck. Support Knowledge Library Click here to go back Click here to print Solution ID: 25263 Switching between Outlook and Palm Desktop synchronization Depending on your device, you might be synchronizing with Outlook using the Palm™ Outlook Conduits, or PocketMirror conduits from Chapura (find out which). Both of these types of conduits are installed and activated when you run the CD-ROM that came with your device. What do you want to learn about? * Switching synchronization: Palm Outlook Conduits * Switching synchronization: PocketMirror Conduits * Synchronizing partially with Palm Desktop, partially with Outlook * Note about data transfer * Macintosh information * Multiple users on the same desktop computer Switching synchronization: Palm Outlook Conduits These instructions apply to the Palm Outlook Conduits that are included with handhelds released after late 2003. The Palm Desktop installer determines which conduits are activated during the installation process. If you want to switch synchronization from Palm Desktop to Outlook, or vice versa, you'll need the original CD-ROM that came with your handheld. 1. Insert the CD-ROM into your computer. A window should open, containing the contents of the CD-ROM. 2. From the Discover Your Handheld screen, select "Install Microsoft Outlook Conduits" or "Change synchronization method" (depending on which device you have) 3. Follow the instructions for switching synchroniztion from or to Palm Desktop or Outlook. 4. See our note about data transfer Remember: Some applications will continue to synchronize with Palm Desktop. Use Palm Desktop to manage applications such as Photos and VoiceMemo

Cannot sync with outlook

You need the CD to get the Chapura PocketMirror Standard conduits. The conduits for Outlook are not part of the desktop download due to copyright protection. You need to obtain the actual CD by contacting palmOne tech support via phone. They will send you a CD for a small fee. If you happen to have a Treo 180,270,300 or 600, the desktop software download for these models includes Chapura PocketMirror standard version as part of the download but you need a serial number for one of those products to get the download.

Could not read the next message from the desktop mail system's inbox

PocketMirror does not control mail synch. It's a common misconception that Chapura PocketMirror synchronizes email. It only synchs Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes from Outlook. The Mail or VersaMail conduit from palmOne is responsible for email synch. It sounds to me like you have a bad record or two in your inbox. You could try moving all your current inbox messages to a temporary folder to see if this breaks the log jam. Then you can start to hunt for the bad one by replacing them in portions and re-synching.

Are you synching your Palm V with Outlook using the supplied software (Chapura PocketMirror stadard edition)? I have never heard of this error - it is not documented on any website I could find including that of chapura who usually are very thorough.

Zire 72 and Outlook 2003 - I think I've tried it all! Doesn't work....

you don't need pocketmirror for zire 72 because palm desktop have outlook conduits to handle outlook synching. inorder for you to sync using outlook you must have the outlook conduits installed which seems you have it already installed. you have to disable some older conduits inorder to avoid conflicts with the conduits. to do these follow these steps: 1. right click on the hotsync manager icon on your system tray 2. click on Custom... 3. select Date Book (Outlook) 4. click on Change... 5. select Do Nothing and set it to default 6. click Ok 7. repeats steps 3-6 for Address Book (Outlook), To Do List (Outlook) and Memo Pad (Outlook)

Synch question

If you have PocketMirror from Chapura (included with certain Palm handhelds), you can choose to install conduits that synchronize MS Outlook with the handheld applications Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, and Memo Pad. You can choose to synchronize these applications with either Palm Desktop or Microsoft Outlook, but not both. If you want to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, DO NOT install Palm Desktop from the Web. Instead, run the Palm Desktop installer from the CD that came with your handheld and select the option "Synchronize with Microsoft Outlook" when the choice appears. Visit www.PocketMirror.com for more information about Chapura(R) PocketMirror.
