Audio Click Whenever a noise is played on my new HP Jornada 565, there is a small click or pop that occurs just a few seconds afterward. It's like the speaker is turning off to conserve power. Is this normal?

Hi,
MIPS, SH3, and StrongARM are types of processors used in handheld PCs. Some software requires a specific processor to run. For instance, Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 requires a StrongARM processor. The Jornada 565 has a 206MHz StrongARM processor.
Occasionally under XP Pro, my 564 won't be recognized when I put it on the cradle to sync. I just take it off the cradle and try again. My understanding is the XP loads an HP driver when the Jornada is detected as connected by USB, if that driver doesn't load succesfully, then XP won't recognize the Jornada.
I use an Omnibook 500 with a Jornada 545 as you describe without problems. The most likely cause is the difference in processors. The first version of Pocket PC was supported on three different CPU architectures. The Jornada 545 uses an SH3 processor. Applications designed for the 565 will not run on the 545. You will need to find applications designed for the SH3 processor.
The clock on either your Jornada or the desktop PC is set wrong. Either one of them is in the wrong time zone, or more likely, one of them is not set to compensate for daylight savings time. Good luck,
my guess would be no seeing as it doesnt have Bluetooth or Wifi which the new Pocket pc is based on and needs bluetooth as standard i beleive. I would look for a new product not just yet though as not much at all supports ppc 2003 as this forum is slowy starting with the moans and groans of app incompatibility.
