KITCHENAIDE BLENDER I was blending bread and bagels to make bread crumbs. All was well until the blender stopped blending. It was running, and the blade turns when it is empty, it is not chopping, pureeing, liquifying, crushing, or blending anything! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I would recommend to invest in a high quality blender that can perform all blending operations. If you're going to blending a bunch and need high speed blender to prepare smoothies and juices quickly. Vitamix will be a great option.

You have burnt up the machine. It will no longer function and would be unsafe to try further. Replace it.

Are you blending something hot? When you blend a hot item the steam that is released will increase the pressure in the headspace above the contents in the blender. The lid will eventually blow off to release the pressure.

To avoid this problem begin blending with no more that one cup of ingredients. Before turning the blender on, remove the center lid insert to allow venting of steam. Blend on low speed. As you blend you can add another 1 1/2 cups of additional liquid through the opening in the lid.

However, a common reason for the blades not rotating in the blender is a dirty or faulty coupler. The coupler is what connects your blender dispenser to the motor, and you can easily replace the coupler at any time by only using a screwdriver.

1. • 1 Turn the blender dispenser clockwise and lift up to remove it. Set the blender dispenser aside.
     
   • 2 Insert a flat-blade screwdriver between the black drive coupler and the frame of the blender on the top center portion of the blender.
     
   • 3 Lift the screwdriver upward, and the coupler will start to bend out of place. Slightly turn the coupler and then lift up on the screwdriver again.
     
   • 4 Continue to move the coupler slightly and lift the screwdriver until the coupler is completely removed.
     
   • 5 Insert the new coupler over the blender's motor blade and then twist the coupler counter-clockwise until it is tightly fastened.

Does the motor still work if you take the pitcher off of the base? If so, the rod that's in the blade assembly is probably corroded. The blades are connected to a metal rod that passes through a brass tube through to the piece that makes contact with the motor when you put the pitcher on the base. The grease wears down eventually and if you don't pulse and run the motor for a long time at once, the heat can corrode the bar and cause the blade to stop spinning. You can either disassemble the blade unit, or buy a new blade unit online. google blender parts and you can get one for $10

There is a gear underneath the blender blade. This connects the blade to the motor found on the base of the blender. This gear usually get worn out specially if the load that we are giving to the blender is beyond its limit. I hope you could by a spare on one of the electric shop near or might as well consider buying a new set.

Mine developed the same problem except it stopped blending while I was using it. Being an electrician I opened mine up and put a meter on the motor windings and found that the windings were open. So basically the motor is shot...unless you can find a part number for motor replacement or if your's is still under a warranty...it might just be easier to buy a new blender.

Hi, cauliflour is not compact no water mix, I have suggestion , cut it 1/2" long make it fine put in blender mix w/small amount of water then start. shut off mix with wooden mixer and start again then okey.

Exact same problem.  Turned out the threaded shaft that holds the blades was broken so tightening the nut on the top doesn't really help.  Just ordered a new blade assembly from www.smallappliance.com.  Mine was the Waring 007314W Blender Cutting Assembly but there is also an older one for earlier models.  Don't know if it will work yet (assume it will), but cheaper than buying a new blender.
