While in the process of starting AutoCAD ,
a Fatal Error occurs.
Fatal errors usually indicate program corruption or a corruption somewhere within the operating system.
There are several ways to address the problem:
A fatal error can be caused by DisplayLink Core software. If you have this installed on your system, try uninstalling it and then see if this resolves the issue. Additionally, some antivirus or desktop locking programs can cause errors in AutoCAD as they lock the system environment from working. Your antivirus may even need to be uninstalled.
If all of the above solutions fail to resolve the issue, and a full uninstall and reinstall of AutoCAD does not help (see Remove All Products from a Windows System
), then you may need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
