Hi.. I have a Bernina 1630 that worked fine until it started having problem that it did not want to sew in reverse. Today i tried it again and it only wants to sew in reverse. After playing around with settings i got it to sew forward but stitches are very tiny i can't adjust the size of the stitches. thanks Judy
Your feed dogs sound like they are getting stuck, chec whether they are on the down position, and also make sure that you have cleaned any lint that builds up in the bobbin area, if all fails it will have to go into the technician,

I don't have an answer because I am not familiar with the 1630, but there is a great Yahoo group called BerninaThirtySomethings that will probably be able to help. Some wonderful, knowledgeable people are members. (You will need a Yahoo email account, request membership to the group, then you will have access to all their conversations, files, etc.)
I have a Bernina Virtuosa so not the same machine - but this may help. There is an icon on the front of the machine - it is a needlepoint pointing at a dot in an oval - there are arrow buttons on either side. These move the needle left or right of center and it shows on LED screen. I checked mine just now and if you turn machine off and on it resets to center automatically. Hope this helps - Happy Sewing!!
