Handhled resets while hotsync.

Everytime i do a hotsync, handhled resets, losing all info?!

Check last installs. I had similar problems with my T5. It followed ..at different times the installation of a Documens to go upgrade (7.006) and a Skyscape text reinstall after a hard reset. After some work with their help desk, got both problems resolved. Basic principle: When that happens remove the last program installed or relabel your backup file and then do a hard reset. Add back porgrams one at a time until problem re appears .. then go to developer for help with that one.

Sounds like the problem is the LCd screen already. Have you tried doing a hard reset to your palm? The data in your palm can only be transferred using Hotsync. Try uninstall/install the software again to the new computer. May i know the Windows OS of the new computer and what is the model of your Palm.

Treo frozen with Treo logo on screen

  1. Hard reset:
  2. Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
  3. While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
  4. If you see a progress bar (see below), keep holding the Power button.
  5. Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
  6. You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.
Warning: A hard reset will erase everything on your device. All your data will be removed, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything.
HotSync note:Some third-party applications change the way your device backs up data. Other third-party applications do not back up data. If you have third-party software on your device, please contact the developer to learn what components are backed up during a HotSync operation, and if HotSync conduits are altered. Any data not backed up will be lost.

Can't get device to hotsync

First thought is that the cable has become defective - they do go wrong.

Assuming the visor is fine other than when hotsyncing, I suggest you reinstall the Desktop manager and hotsync manager on your PC or Mac, HAVING BACKED UP ALL FILES of course.

Sometimes the managers get corrupted and cause problems. Try that first, then check cable and finally a hard reset, assuming you have hotsynced recently and so won't lose loads of information.

During hotsync, data wont transfer from Computer to palm

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Treo659 reboots constantly

Try a reset first but you more likely a hard reset will take care of this but it will wipe your palm. Anything you have added since your last hotsync will be gone and there is no way to get it back.. After you do the reset the next hotsync should put your info and programs back on.

Replacement Treo won't load my info

I would suggest doing a hard reset on the replacement treo. After that do a hotsync, and choose exhisting user from the drop down menu. This should work.

HOTSYNC REQUIRES RESET

HotSync menu select Custom, change System to HandHeld overwrites Desktop, set as default. It is probably set to Desktop overwrites Handheld

Reset after every HotSync

I had the same problem. I had to do a hard reset, delte the backup folder on the computer, delete the profile and then reinstall the software. No it HotSync without reset.
