I am assuming you are referring to playing original Xbox games on your new 360. Halo was the only game from the box that you can play directly without needing to download the patch to play but supposed newer systems have the capability to play more directly out of the box.

Other backwards compatable games can be played but you will need a samll patch for each game. The game if playable will automatically attepmt to download the patch from xbox live. So you will need to have your Xbox 360 conected to live or have a patch disk. (which is available via the Xbox Magazine disk or can be downloaded online and burned to a disk)

Here is a link for Xbox games that are playable on the 360: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

"You can play some original Xbox games on your Xbox 360 console, if you have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive and the latest console software.

Information about how to update your console software is available on our Xbox support website:
support.xbox.com/pages/xbox-360/how-to/update-xbox-360/system-updates.aspx "

My xbox 360 will not read disc and play

Most likely its the drive that is bad, the best option would be getting a new one. These drives have a small PCB board in them, that pcb board has the drives DVD security key that lets you play games. If you go the routenof purchasing a new drive you have to unsolder that PCB board and resolder it to the new drive for it to work. You have to make sure you purchase the same model drive a fat drive won't fit in a xbox360 slim. Here's a video on how to do this without hacks and PC knowledge to do so. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qDBCcU0A4dA

When trying to play certain game types on online multiplayer on halo reach or original xbox games, it keeps saying player doesnt have a hardrive which he needs to play this game mode, but i have 4gb hard...

Hi, although you do have 4Gb storage space this is not actually classed as a hard drive. It is purely flash storage. To be able to play old Xbox games and certain multiplayer games you will in fact have to buy a new hard drive for your Xbox Slim. There is a small cover which hides a Sata hard drive slot connector in the top of your Xbox. I think currently Microsoft are selling the hard drive including the caddy for around £130 ($200). I myself was duped into buying a 4Gb console only to end up buying a hard drive afterward.

Hope this helps

My xbox wont work it is saying This game requires a system update

You need to connect your xbox to the internet, either with a wireless adapter or with a cord into the wall port. After you are connected, when the xbox turns on, it should ask if you want to install the system update. After that, you will be able to play the game.

Hi,my xbox360 won't read pirate some pirate games,why?

First off I'd like to mention that what I post here does not condone piracy, merely reiterating information widely available already on the internet.

First off, your Xbox360 will not read pirated/backed up games if you have no made any modifications to it. Secondly, if your Xbox360 was bought in 2005 and you have not updated it to play on Xbox live, do not follow my advice here, look up the JTAG hack on google. This is more complex but it lets you do much much more with your Xbox360 and in a sense 'jailbreak's' it.

Regardless of what Xbox360 you have (old, 'slim', updated or not), you can enable it to play pirated/backed up games by flashing the DVD drive firmware with a custom firmware, the latest being the ixtreme LT+, with a software utility called Jungle Flasher. Do do this you need a computer with SATA capability and you need to take apart your XBOX. There are many good tutorials freely available online (best ones are from ixtreme.net) and there is enough info above to get you started.

If you are not comfortable with computers and/or taking apart your 360, I would not attempt any of this.

p.s. The latest ixtreme firmware does let you play your game copies on XboxLive without the risk of being banned, even when playing the latest 'protected' discs.

p.p.s I would also like to mention that while you may have purchased an Xbox360, in the U.S.A. you do not own the full rights to do whatever you want with that device (current exceptions only being made for mobile phones). So if you live there, customizing your Xbox360 in whatever way you see fit is illegal until further changes are made the DMCA.

I dont now how to get my xbox360 to play xbox games

The XBOX360 requires a update file for each XBOX game to play on it. Not all games are supported. If your XBOX360 is connected to the internet it will automatically check for an update when a XBOX game is inserted. If your XBOX360 is not connected to the internet then you can burn a DVD or CD rom from a computer with the update files and insert the disc into the XBOX360 and update the files. Or you can load then to a USB jump drive and plug the jump drive to the USB port on the XBOX360 and update from that. The details are available from here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/systemupdates.htm

And remember not all XBOX games will play on the XBOX360. Only ones with updated files. So if it does not play after the file update then it is not supported. Microsoft updates these files quarterly so check back once a month for more updates.
