My Nokia 3230 joystick is not working properly. It selects the first option even if i try to move it up, down, right or left. Please tell me the solution. Thanks in advance.

Setting the time (Set Time)
Select "Set Time" in the menu. Move the joystick to the right to go to the menu
for setting the time. Then select "Year", "Month", "Date", "Hours" and "Minutes"
by moving the joystick left or right. Set the desired value by moving the joystick
up or down. Exit the installation menu by selecting "Exit" and then moving the
joystick up or down.

Formatting the memory card
When a memory card is formatted, all data on the card are permanently lost.
Some memory cards are supplied pre-formatted and others require formatting.
Consult your retailer to find out if you must format the memory card before you
can use it.
• Select Options→ Format mem. card.
Select Yes to confirm. When formatting is complete, enter a name for the
memory card (max. 11 letters or numbers).

Backing up and restoring information
To back up information from your phone’s memory to the memory card, select
Options→ Backup phone mem.
To restore information from the memory card to the phone’s memory, select
Options→ Restore from card.
You can only back up the phone memory and restore it to the same phone.

Locking the memory card
To set a password to lock your memory card to help prevent unauthorised use,
select Options→ Set password.
You are asked to enter and confirm your password. The password can be up to
eight characters long.

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.

It is rather frequent problem with Nokia.
If your mobile warranty is expired then try to disassemble your phone and clear you joystick of dirt.
If it doesn't help then nothing can be done but bringing it to service.
As far as I remember menus on 6600 are not recurring so you can not use only up direction to reach icons that are below. I did so on E70 when had he same problem with joystick.

see budy what u cud do is open up the cover of ur handset blow some air into the part of joystick might have some dust particale stucked there, otherwise change ur joystick.

2nd Board replacement

when u getting that problem just switched off and restart it work autometically...or else open the front cover and clean it.
