Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see your TV2 remote isn't connecting toyour receiver. You will want to make sure you're at the TV1 location to programthe remote for TV2, press the Menu button 2 times and you will see the SystemInfo screen. On the bottom for the screen you will see the remote address forTV2, make sure the TV2 remote has fresh batteries inside. On the back of thereceiver their will be a Remote Antenna port and you want to make sure that ishand tight. Push and release the SAT button and press record and you should seethe address change for TV2. I will send a link to help with these steps; http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-control.

Dstv remote not working on any blue dials? Two tv's in separate rooms, one pvr decoder. Only the red dial works on both tv's & both remotes are working & both tvs responding properly.

Is this a newly installed system? If both tv's are responding to the same remote setting (red in case), it means both tv's are set to the same channel. The tv that is connected to the decoder directly (via AV cables, I presume) is supposed to respond to if the remote is set to red. In order for the second tv to respond when the remote is set to blue, you need to tune the second tv until you find the picture of tv2 (the decoder transmits both tv1 and tv2 on the RF/coaxial output and it seems that your remote tv is tuned to tv1 instead of tv2).

On tv 2 the remote controls the volume and power but will not change channels or do anything else. went to system info in tv 1, pressed sat and power. This did not help. Batteries are new.

Hey, Jane!

I can definitely help you with this. Go to the System Info screen like before, but on the TV2 remote press the 'Record button and see if the number in 'Secondary Remote Address' changes. If it doesn't, let me know here, and I will assist you in programming it!

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are trying to use a second TV without a remote or if you are trying to set up TV 2. The two remotes are different so, they will not perform on both Tv's. Please gine me more info on what you are trying to do.

My remote control for tv #2 does not respond and i want to know what to do. i bought a new one what should i do

Hi there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. If the old remote was not responding to your TV2 anymore you may want to try replacing the batteries first if that does not work the next step would be to try readdressing the remote to the receiver. You can try readdressing both remotes to get them to work with your DISH receiver box. I will list the instructions for readdressing your TV2 remote here for you. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any other questions or concerns feel free to email directly at [email protected].

Instructions for addressing the remote to the receiver
  1. Take your TV2 remote to your receiver box location.
  2. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the system info button once or by pressing the menu button twice on the TV1 remote.
  3. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
  4. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number in the small white square to something other then what is already listed.
  6. Press the pound (#) button.
  7. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 5 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

I would like to list here for you the instructions on changingyour remote address so that it no longer experiences interference. This shouldbe an easy fix for the issue you are experiencing. I hope this works for youbut if it does not or you have any further questions or concerns about thisissue or any others feel free to email me at [email protected] and Iwill be happy to help. :)

  2. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver. (You may need to open the little door on the front right side of the receiver box)
  3. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2). For your particular situation you will locate TV2
  4. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  5. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the white square.

Can you buy a universal remote for TV 2 to change the channels? My remote for SAT DISH stopped working the lights on the top come on but I can not change the channel, view the guide etc...

The remote is an Ultra High Frequency remote and most universals are IR MAKING THEM INCOMPATIBLE.

Take the TV2 remote into the TV1 location and using the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU. You will now have a screen up that has remote addresses at the bottom. Take the TV2 REMOTE AND PRESS AND HOLD the SAT button on the upper left of the remote until all lights on top illuminate and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1-16 that is not either number on the screen currently and press the pound sign. The SAT button will flash three times now press the record button until the remote addy for tv2 changes to the new number.

You can cancel out of all of these screens with the TV1 remote. Now go to TV2 see if it works. If not try at the receiver. If it works there have Dish send you a new remote.

Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Unplug one of the receivers. Now go to the second and with the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU and you will see the two remote addresses displayed. On the TV 2 remote that is associated to turn off the TV2 with this receiver press and hold the SAT button on the top left of the remote until all the buttons across the top illuminate. Now key in a two digit number that differs from the one for TV2 displayed on the screen. Now press the pound sign and the SAT button will flash three times. Next press the small record button until the TV2 address changes to the correct two digit number. Now you should be able to turn the other receiver back on and be able to control each TV2 independent of each other. Thanks for using Fix Ya. If you need further assistance let me know.

Remote on second t.v. not working

Lawrence, you have probably got a remote that needs the address changed. Go to the TV1 location and press menu-menu pn the TV1 remote. This will take you to the system info screen. Now take the TV2 remote and press and hold the SAT button on the top left of the remote until all buttons across the top light up. Now choose and key in a two digit number that is between 1-16 but is different from the number for the TV1 address and press the pound button. The SATbutton will flash three times. Now press the record button until the remote address for TV2 changes to the number you keyed in. Once this occurs you can cancel out of the menu screen at the TV2 location and go to TV2 and verify functionality. If this still has not resolved the issue try the remote for TV2 at the receiver location. If you have sucess here you will need to move the UHF antenna closer to TV2. If you need further assistance please let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
