sc 440 means main motor is defective

Try press number 0 and 8 meanwhile power ON machine. After 3 sec, release the number. Press 2002 > Start > 0 > Enter. Reboot machine. Good Luck

Sound like a hijack of somekind this is normally associated with homepages or start pages.

If the website link that sent you there expected a http site and instead it tried to open a https (secure) site this can give you a 440 error (timeout error)

Also uninstall the AOL search toolbar it might have been installed as part of another software bundle then try again.

You could also use a Hostfile to prevent you from accessing the AOL site copy and paste the URL into the host file in the windows system folder.
