I have a whirlpool washer sm8525079a it is not letting the water in

Water valve may be continuously be letting water in or it’s a control board problem

The water valve is working. It only does as told. Faulty water temp switch or yank out the small board and clean the terminals then re insert it and see if maybe corrosion was all that it was. That is what I would try if it was mine.

If this only happens when the machine is turned on,the tube from the tub to the water level switch is pinched or broken. If the clear plastic tube is not pinched or broken,the water level switch in the control console is bad. If the machine lets water through when it is in the OFF position,the water valve where the hoses connect are bad.

the hot water may not be at proper temp.

it means no water is entering unit,,,check hot and cold hose,,,clean your inlet screen ..look for a kink in your hoses,,also check and make sure water is leaving unit,,if water isnt leave than ,,unit will not let water in ,,in case of an overfill..if you need help cleaning pump filter let me know...onthejob

not a good model number but anyway the water inlet valve needs to be replaced

first make sure the hoses aren't reversed hot on cold or cold on hot next turn off cold water remove the hose from the washer and check to see if the screen on the washer is clogged if not get a bucket turn on cold water and see how strong the water is then let me know what you find dont rate me till we are done
