The itc222 has been a problem child in this area. the standard resolution channels your analog channel are converge differently from your hd or digital channels. does autoconvergence work on analog channels.. I am suspecting that what is needed is what is called service convegence. a technician needs to get into special factory mode when in hd and manually coverge it. I would not recommend a non tech doing this. i do it all the time and have spent hours converging this set.

You may have to clean the crt's and lenses and the mirror. Unit may need total convergence from the service menu. If image is blurred in only one area like the corner I would suggest NOT to adjust the electrical or mechanical focus.

How do i set convergence of red, green ,blue through service mode

Most common cause for this on the Sony KDL 40EX520 is that the connections to the screen across the top edge of the panel become loose causing blurred picture, mis-aligned colors etc. The Fix requires dis-assembly (Removal of the entire case) and re-seating/resecuring the connection across the top of the LCD Panel.
There is a pretty detailed video of the process (less the disassembly) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80PfZXFGDvQ

Where is the auto convergence button

Hello
From it menu option, suf through and come to automatic convergence display option and press Ok button on the remote control.

The List & Labels part of the setup lets you edit your channel list and choose or create a

personal six-character label for each channel.

Note: Changing List and Labels can be time consuming. You can change these at a later time by accessing the

Setup menu.

1. Press the left or right arrow to scroll through the available channels and choose the

channel you want to edit.

2. Press the down arrow to highlight the In channel list option. Press the left or right arrow

button to add (the box is checked) or remove (the box is unchecked) the channel from the

list.

3. Press the down arrow to highlight the Channel label option. Press the left or right arrow

button to scroll through the available list of 25 most common labels. The last option in

the list allows you to create your own six-character label for the channel (the first letter of

the label is highlighted).

4. Press the 1 or 2 number button to change the first letter of the label.

5. Press the right arrow to highlight the second letter, then press the 1 or 2 number button

to change the second letter, etc...

6. When you are finished creating your label, press OK. For model D34W20, your TV tunes to

the last channel available in your channel list. For models D40W20 and D52W20 only, the
Auto Convergence menu appears next.

Auto Convergence (for models D40W20 and D52W20 only)

Your TV's picture tubes might have been disturbed during delivery or after you moved the TV,

causing the color in your TV to be out of alignment. The colors adjust by starting auto

convergence.

1. Press OK to begin auto convergence.

2. When the auto convergence is complete, the Red center convergence menu appears. The

cross in the middle of the screen should be yellow. If it is not, use the arrow buttons to

move the red cross to overlap the green cross. Press OK when adjustments are complete.

3. The Blue center convergence menu appears with a cyan cross in the middle of the screen. If

it is not, use the arrow buttons to move the blue cross to overlap the green cross. Press OK
(the TV tunes to the last available channel in the channel list).

Tv out of foucs

These procedures are from the owners manual, go into menu and then picture quality and then: Convergence The Convergence feature lets you adjust the TV’s three tubes. When the TV tubes’ images are precisely aligned, they create the color images you see on the screen. Over time, the picture can drift out of alignment (this is normal). If your picture seems fuzzy or has a yellow tint, using Convergence could correct this misalignment. Only one convergence is needed for all inputs, regardless of the signal format. Note: Make sure the TV has been on for at least 30 minutes (TV needs to warm up for best results) before starting Auto Converge or Red/Blue Centering. When you select the Convergence feature, a submenu appears with three options: Auto Converge Automatically aligns the projection lenses to self-correct color images. You’ll see flashing squares of color dance across the screen (this is normal). Note: After performing auto convergence, use the Blue Centering and Red Centering menus to fine tune convergence in the center of the screen, if necessary. Blue Centering Aligns the blue and green images to fine-tune the picture. Red Centering Aligns the red and green images to fine-tune the picture. Note: The ability to change channels is disabled when adjusting the convergence options. The TV must be tuned to a usable signal to converge the picture.

When I set the Directv receiver box to the 1080i resolution mode, the picture on the TV is ghost mode with red and blue outlines around each figures. please help. When I set the receiver to the 480i...

This may sound strange but I have seen something like this once before in this model----In the customer menu select Convergence---DO THIS WITH NOTHING CONNECTED TO THE SET FOR SIGNAL-- IF THE multipoint convergence looks ok---I saw one of these sets where the problem was the box that was giving the set signal---easy to find out if you have them swap that box out for another---The TV does not know(convergence wise) whether you are 480 or 1080---yes, sometimes the set needs to be adjusted in each of these modes for Convergence---the set I saw the convergence was ok in 480 but out the window in 1080----he had another box in another room and when we swapped it the problem was gone.

Let me know if this helps you---in the 480 you can confirm this by hooking a DVD etc and if that looks good---suspect the box.

If you have any questions let me know--I am here to help.

Concaved distorted picture in 1080 Mitsubishi 65" TV.

This is a convergence rpoblem that is either bad connections on the pins of the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and are comfortable working inside TVs where there are potentially dangerous high voltages, let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions for fixing this yourself.

Philips 32pt television screen format off center, to the left

For me it was the cable box settings...

I'm not a tech person, so take this for what its worth. I had the same problem with my Vizio and my Time Warner Cable HD/DVR box using the HDMI cord connection. HD channels were always fine, and non HD channels were fine until I went to an HD channel and back. When switching back, the non-HD channels would be shifted to the left as you describe. After much back and forth with both Vizio and Time Warner (each saying its caused by the other), I stumbled across the following fix...

I went into the cable box (scientific atlanta 8300) "settings", under "display," under "output resolution." There was a list including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and "auto select." I unchecked both 480 options and left 720 and 1080 checked. Problem solved. The other "Display" menu settings are as follows: Picture Size = Stretch, Aspect Ratio = 16x9.

Hope this helps.

Shifted Picture

Yes. This problem comes about by actually pressing the center ring accidentally during normal viewing. Just press and hold the left or right side of the ring until the pciture straightens itself out again (if the black portion of the screen is to the right of the picture, press the right ring; if it is to the left side, press the left ring).
