This can be confusing and you're not the first to ask. To put it simply you can only program the timer to turn the unit OFF while it's running. For it to turn ON again, say in 4 hours. You have to wait until the unit is in standby mode, then advance the timer to 4 hours. Four hours later it will turn ON and start functioning.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Should the fan shut off when the humidity setting has been reached for model Frigidaire CAD504DWL 50-Pint Two Speed?

Thank you for your post, friend!

I see that your question is if the fan should shut off once it has reached the recommended setting. The fan will run even when the compressor cuts off so that air can pass over the sensor coils to check the humidity. This is a normal operation. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Just purchased a Danby dehumidifier (model # DDR6O11R). I was wondering when the dehumidifier reaches the programmed level of humidity (example: 40%). Is the unit suppose to shut off completely? I believe...

Depending on which mode you have the unit set on, will determine if it shots OFF entirely or the fan continues to run. In the Constant or Continual mode, the compressor will turn OFF, once the humidity extraction level has been reached. But, the fan will continue to operate, in an effort to keep the air circulating, so that if the humidity level rises, the compressor will turn ON and start extracting again.

In Timed Mode (usually 2 hour or 4 hour) , when the compressor turns OFF the fan does too.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Just bought a brand new Frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifier. As waited 2 hours before plugging it up and when I did I got a ES error, the unit runs but the display flashes between "CO" and...

Read the instruction manual thoroughly and ensure you did everything exactly. If it still doesn't work it is faulty and should be returned.

I have a DANBY PREMIERE R410A dehumidifier. I have misplaced the manual. I want to have the unit run for a fixed period of time (not all the time). HELP!!!

On the control panel the 3rd button from the left is the timer button. If you press this button when the unit is running the number display on the left will start blinking- use the up/down arrows to set the time that you want the unit to run.
If you press the timer button when the unit is off it will run on and off for the designated time you set- eg if you set 1 then every 1 hour the machine will switch on and run for 1 hour.
(The left # will just blink once you have the time you want just leave it and eventually the normal humidity setting reading will show)

Settings

As an example, if you want the Humidity % factor to be 50%, 70% or whatever % you want in the space in question to be, set it at whatever % you want the space to be and the humidifier will work until it reaches that setting. It will then shut down until it determines that the humidity has reached a level that requires dehumidifying again. You can set it to run for 2 hours and it then it will shut down for 2 hours, or you can set it to run for 4 hours and then it will shut down for 4 hours. You just have to decide just how humid the area is that you are dealing with.
Go to; www.shopping.com and search for Goldstar Dehumidifiers and you can read comments by others who have purchased this brand. I, myself have one in my celler that has been running for over two years and it has made a world of differance down there.
Good luck. :)

Dehumidifier frosting up

It needs gas. Quite simply the only way it can freeze up is when the refrigerant gas is getting low to the point when it starts super-expanding at the evaporator. Any authorised refrigeration technician should be able to top it up, and check it for leaks - there may be a seal that is partially shot, or possibly a leaky joint / pipe / compressor. A refrigerant leak detector will track this down quickly. Only thing is - get a quote for the work first - sometimes refrigerant is pricey enough to make it close to not worth it on some units. Unfortunately this is not something you are permitted to do yourself (topping the gas up, not the leak checking) due to environmental legislation. Good luck, it should be worth doing, otherwise it will probably continue to get worse until the compressor fails, maybe quite quickly. Hope this helps :)
