Denon 1508- no sound but smoke.

Bought Denon 1508 from authorised dealer at simlimsquare singapore. I moved to India and got the same setup in India through an authorised service centre.

After 15 days of use, I had the problem of receiver getting into protect mode.[system automatically goes into standby] Then I gave it to the denon center. They kept the receiver with them for 15 days. I was told transformer is damaged and they repaired. After 1 day of use post that - this new problem[system is on but no sound comes plus burnng smell] has occured. No sound. in addition i can also get a burning smell from the receiver. [and faintly some indication of smoke!!] however i live in India and do not have warranty cover. [The warranty I have is only for singapore]

What should i do? I have already spent about 100$ on repairing a brand new receiver and do not know how much more to spend.

Request somebody to help/ advice. Also my appeal to all those audio enthusiasts- PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER DENON FOR ENTRY LEVEL RECEIVERS. THEIR 1508 IS A VERY BAD MODEL. their service support is pathetic.

Perhaps u might consider going to a(n) (unauthorised) repair centre. just check with folks around u or maybe audio forums within your area. authorised agent doesn't always mean the best. i suspect they may have used reconditioned components.

Only red light is blinking on my denon avr 1508

It sounds like you overloaded the Denon avr with too much resistence from the speakers. Please check the total resistence of the speakers before you connect them all. Also check that the speakers or their wires are not shorted!

AVR-1508 7.1 Channels Receiver: My Denon AVR-1508 won't stay on. Once I try to tak...

Not familiar with this model but seems like the protection circuit is kicking in, this could be caused by an imbalance of Ohms between channels or a short. remove & check all speakers and cables for continuity or shorts, does the unit power on without speakers or in a different mode (surround off).
always add speakers in pairs (L&R) before testing to prevent possible protection circuit, test main speaker pair first then add surrounds (all according to the allowable Ohms range for the amp of course)

No video on Denon 1508

Coax-2 is audio. Where's the video from the cable tuner coming into the Denon?

Why don you need the cable to pass video through the Denon on iuts way to the TV anyway? Interconnnects rarely add value.
