The batteries may be low. If you see the low battery icon, recharge or replace the batteries or use the optional AC adapter. The flash may be recharging. Wait until the status light turns green, and try again. The camera may be full. Check the picture counter on the display panel. Erase some pictures, or transfer the pictures to your computer and then erase them. Make sure your CompactFlash memory card is installed. You may need to format your CompactFlash memory card. Check to see if a message is displayed on the camera's LCD screen. The camera may be connected to your computer. When it's connected, you can't use any of the controls on the camera itself. See your user's manual for instructions on taking pictures from your computer.

All the pictures that I took at a cheerleading camp in an indoor football field are grainy. I had the setting on P and iso on 1600. What did I do wrong

Hi it is normal that you had setting ISO1600. If the picture come fine then something wrong. Up to 400 speed, you can see fine picture. Higher than that would come picture grainy.

My old camera was an Olympus Camedia c-765 digital. My new one is an Olypmus SP-800UZ 14 megapixel. The more I use the SP-8OOuz the more disappointed with the pictures I take. None of them seem sharply in...

No, you are not wrong. When there are more pixels, the picture must be more clearly and you can zoom it more. Because you have experience with another Olympus camera, I'm inclined to believe that
something is wrong with your new camera. Try to put it on AUTO mode and see the difference. If everything will be ok, it means that you are wrong when you set the manual parameters.

As I connect the camera to the computer, the recent pictures I to

Nothing is wrong. The file names of the recent pictures probably duplicate those of your old pictures. Your computer is probably caching the images associated with those names until you double-click on them.

Since you declined to specify the type of computer and the software you're using, I'm afraid I can't tell you how to clear the cache. I also assume you're not really connecting your 35mm SLR camera to your computer.

My memory card is in my camera, but when it takes a picture and i put my memory card in the computer to view the pics, there's nothing on the memory card. what's wrong

A few things... Make sure that the card is the one recommended for the camera. Can you play back a picture which you have taken? That needs to be checked first. Put the card in the camera, take a picture then view it on the camera's LCD. If you can see pictures, then some thing is wrong on the computer and the way it is reading the card.

Picture Problems

Unfortunately the lens shutter mechanism isn't working properly. If a picture is taken in bright light, I'm guessing the photo is way over exposed? The best solution is to replace it with a good, used lens assembly.
