DC-CAMZ 4200 with 1GB SD CARD

I bought this DC-CAMZ 4200 from CREATIVE SINGAPORE. This cam is amasing! I understand that the specs mentioned that only up to 512mb can be used. However, since most cameras are using 1gb with no problem, i recently bought a 1gb SD card andwas surpriced that it didn't work. I call up the technical hotline this afternoon to ask for help and was told that the max capacity is 512mb. But i asked the cust care if there were any cust feed back if they had successfully used a 1gb SD, it seems that there were people who are able to use it but he does not know what brand. I thank the Cust care for his help as he tried his best to help. I jus feel a 512mb is not enough if i were to use the video function. I hope the technical team could advise me on the alternative way to go about it. Possible a software upgrade or maybe what Particular brand of 1GB SD is suitable for this cam.

SOURCE: PC-Cam 300 no longer functions as a digital camera

Let's do a hardware reset on the player: Press Snapshot button and Operational mode button simultaneously for more than two seconds this will delete all the files from the camera. A beep sound is heard when the memory is cleared and LCD displays zero. This may get the camera working again.

SOURCE: Creative PC-CAM software

you might have a malfunctioning camera try it on a friends computer with the software if it dosent work it probably wont work you can take it to a repair shop, if it does work your computer probably has a virus or corrupt system files all you need to do then is scan for viruses and then insert a system repair disk for your current operating system or put your operating system disk in and repaair your system.

What is the max SD card size?

SD cards max out at 2GB. SDHC cards go up to 32GB and SDXC cards go up from 64GB, but they will work only in devices designed for them. If your camera's specs mention only SD cards then the higher-capacity cards won't work.

I lost memory card bought new one card error message

If this question is also about the DC-T50, then you need to replace your SDHC card with an SD card, as I mentioned in another response.

I won an Optura xi bought in 2005 from the US. I recently bought an SDHC card (Sandisk Ultra 16 GB, 15 MB/s, 100x) from Singapore. I was trying to copy the video on tape to this card. I get an error...

From my understanding and the manual etc It would appear that your Optura does not support the SDHC type of card

Only the SD variety is supported.

Whilst they appear the same they in fact differ in the way they address memory and only tend to work in much newer devices.

Sorry for the bad news

I have a Nikon S6000. I recently bought a card for it at a Big Lots store. Here is what is on the front of the card: "PNY Optima SD HC 120 min HD 8GB." The problem is that the card will not come...

"SD" cards larger than about 2GB are actually SDHC cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

It sounds like your camera is able to understand SDHC, but your card reader is not. It won't cost much to buy a new card reader, but make sure the specs mention SDHC.
