You may have a weak internet connection or the playstation network/ game servers may be down. Make sure you have updated your ps3 to rule out that possiblity. You may want to try going to settings>network settings> internet connection test. If you have a weak signal strength, you may want to try moving the modem closer/ point it closer to the ps3. My download speed shows 2.1Mbps and upload 647kbps which is fairly average and don't usually have a problem. I find that sometimes I cannot connect due to the time of day (too many users onlie at the same time in your area may slow down your internet speed), for this reason I always have more luck playing later at night or earlier in the morning which may or may not be an option for you. Hope this helps!

My Modern Warfare 2 Game Wont Let Me Play... Please Help!!!

It could be your router or network settings for your internet. Do you use Port forwarding? The Playstation site tells you all the ports you need to use. Also try putting your playstation in a DMZ.

Wndr 3300 net gear router wont work with hn 9000 hughes net modem

I went to the Hughes web site to check out the modem. They say it is also a router. I think you will have to disable the router abilities of your WNDR 3300 Net Gear Router.

Get into the Netgear setup by loging on to it.In its WAN setup select Static IP Address and set the Static IP Address to the same as the hughes modem, except for the last number which should be about 50 greater. IE: Hughes 192.168.12.1 and Netgear 192.168.12.55.

In the DHCP setup, disable the DHCP Server

In the Wireless setup, Give your network a name is SSID. You should also set up security to keep others off you internet connection with a WEP key.

I hope this helps.

Connecting D-Link DI-634M to HughesNet HN9000

I hate it when ISPs give you devices that dictate how your network has to be setup. They should just give you a modem which give a public IP to whatever connects to it.

For this to work you have to connect the cable from the hughes box to your router on one of the four regular jacks on the back NOT the internet/wan jack you would normally use.

Set the IP of the Dlink to 192.168.0.254
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default GW 192.168.0.1

This SHOULD allow the router to act like a switch. I have a linksys that has an option to make it function as an access point , which is what you need for this modem, but I dont see any option for the d link you have to do that.

Hughes have a knowledgebase which may be of some use to you.

Host connection errors

some games on the ps3 requires a 1mbps of upload most of the games are at 512 mbps wich most internet services are locked at 512 its a problem out there for ps3 users the internet providers wont go over 512 due the their bandwith allocation! wich means if they double everybodys upload then they will run out of stream for uploads and downlads!

espacially when you play games with over 14 multiplayers the 1mbps becomes crucial!

so i suggest talking with the internet service and check online the game you refer for upload requirement donload shoulbefine!
