I can get my playstation network online with my hughes net HN9000 modem but it wont join any games.Is there anything you can do to get to play online with a ps3?

You may have a weak internet connection or the playstation network/ game servers may be down. Make sure you have updated your ps3 to rule out that possiblity. You may want to try going to settings>network settings> internet connection test. If you have a weak signal strength, you may want to try moving the modem closer/ point it closer to the ps3. My download speed shows 2.1Mbps and upload 647kbps which is fairly average and don't usually have a problem. I find that sometimes I cannot connect due to the time of day (too many users onlie at the same time in your area may slow down your internet speed), for this reason I always have more luck playing later at night or earlier in the morning which may or may not be an option for you.
