Question about Olympus Camedia C-770 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Noisy images I purchased Olympus C-740 camera from EBAY couple of months back. I find that the pictures taken by my camera are more grainer/noiser that the ones seen on the WEB gallieries / samples, taken for the same model camera. I wonder if my camera is faulty or I am missing any thing..

Difficult to say without seeing some examples. Could you upload a few to your gallery for us to take a look. One possibility is the ISO is set too high. Go into your cameras settings and look up the ISO reading. Set it to its lowest setting (Probably 50 or 100) and take a few shots and see if that makes any difference. I have a C750 which does suffer with noise at higher ISO settings, but the lower setting should give very good results.

My olympus e volt 500 will not display image when in shoot mode

There is a little button on the back, marked 'info'. Press it to switch from picture view to settings view. It also operates the viewfinder.

Olympus also has a good photo editing program that is free and it allows you to edit photos and stitch pictures taken pn panoramic mode into one panoramic picture. It's called Olympus Master.

My Olympus FE-340 camera went from making very light striped pictures to completely black with nothing showing up. Can you help? It is only aroung 15 months old.

Hi there,

Your camera had a CCD (image sensor) problem. And this is something recognized by all digital camera manufacturers.

Olympus is distinguishing themselves by offering to repair affected cameras, even if they aren't displaying the problem yet. Their free repair policy is extended for up to four years from the original purchase date.

For more information of your problem, you can click the link below.

Camera takes black photos

The problem you are describing is a problem with one of the chips in the camera that controls image processing. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $103.85 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

Olympus xD-Picture Card "Card Error"

First things first - need to make sure that the card is making proper electrical contact with the camera. Have a look at the contacts at the edge of the card and make sure they are spotlessly clean - even a fingerprint may cause problems.

Also, make sure the contacts in the camera have nothing causing a contact problem, and see if this resolves the issue.

Regards, Andy

CARD FULL with 3 pictures

Have you tryed eraseing / formating it in the 740?

Make sure the camara uses the card instead of internal memory
it might be that its saveing the images into the cameras internal memory witch is probably just about 3-4 shots.
