Hi snetaps3,

If you look just above the keyboard on the right-hand side you will see a row of buttons. The Power button is the button on the far right of the row. The other buttons are quick launch buttons.

If you need a manual for your laptop, I have located one in the link below. When clicked it should enable you to download a zip file. In the zip file is the pdf manual. The page showing the front view of your laptop is on page 29.

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User%20Manual/AS5550_3670-ENG-OLM.zip?acerid=633646623289370172&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%205550&OS=X01&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=EMEA_27

I hope this has been helpful for you.
Kind Regards
mparkyn

Transferring motherboard from Gateway SX2801-07E to another case. How do I connect the motherboard front panel headers?

  1. Identify the headers: Locate the front panel headers on the new case and on the motherboard. Make sure that you have identified the correct headers and that they are compatible with each other.
  2. Check the pinout: Refer to the manual for the new case to determine the pinout for the front panel headers. Make sure that it matches the pinout listed for the motherboard, as mentioned above.
  3. Connect the wires: Use the pinout information to connect the wires from the new case to the appropriate pins on the motherboard. Make sure that each wire is securely connected and that there are no loose wires that could cause a short circuit.
  4. Connect the HDD LED: The HDD LED can be connected to pins 13 and 14 of the front header (LEDH1).
  5. Connect the power LED: The power LED can be connected to pins 3 and 4 of the front header (LEDH1).
  6. Connect the reset switch: The reset switch can be connected to pins 7 and 8 of the front header (LEDH1).
  7. Connect the power switch: The power switch can be connected to pins 10 and 11 of the front header (LEDH1).
Make sure that you connect the wires correctly and securely, as an incorrect connection can cause damage to the motherboard or the front panel components.

How do you change out 4 wheel drive switch on 2004 Yukon

Before trying to replace the switch ,are any lights flashing ? 2hi , 4lo, 4hi etc... Do you know which transfer case yours has ?
Transfer Case - BW 4482-NR4
Transfer Case - NVG 246-NP8
How many buttons ?
The BW 4482 transfer case features a 3-button shift control switch located on the instrument panel.
The NVG 246 EAU transfer case features a 4 button shift control switch located on the instrument panel
Before you replace the switch and finding out that it isn't the problem . The switch is a low voltage input to the tansfer case shift control module (A COMPUTER ) Could have diagnostic trouble codes stored .
DTC B0790
DTC B2725
DTC C0306
DTC C0327
DTC C0329
DTC C0359
DTC C0550
Auto part stores can not read these codes .

The BW 4482 transfer case features a 3-button shift control switch located on the instrument panel. When the vehicle has the ignition key in the RUN position, the transfer case shift control module starts monitoring the transfer case shift control switch to determine if the driver desires a new mode/range position. At a single press of the transfer case shift control switch, the lamp of the new desired position will begin flashing to inform the driver that the transfer case shift control module has received the request for a new mode/range position. The lamp will continue to flash until all shifting criteria have been met and the new mode/range position has been reached, or has been engaged. Once the new mode/range position is fully active, the switch indicator lamp for the new position will remain ON constantly. In addition, the switch includes a VSES request button which sends a voltage signal to the transfer case shift control module. The transfer case shift control module in turn sends a request via the class 2 data bus to the ABS control module which controls the VSES system.

The NVG 246 EAU transfer case features a 4 button shift control switch located on the instrument panel. When the ignition key is in the RUN position, the transfer case shift control module monitors the transfer case shift control switch to determine if the driver desires a new mode/range position. At a single press of the transfer case shift control switch, the lamp of the new desired position will begin flashing to inform the driver that the transfer case shift control module has received the request for a new mode/range position. The lamp will continue to flash until all shifting criteria has been met and the new mode/range position has been reached, or has been engaged. Once the new mode/range position is fully active, the switch indicator lamp for the new position will remain ON constantly.
DTC B2725
Circuit Description
The range/mode switch circuit consists of 5 modes. The transfer case shift control module supplies 5 volts to the switch through the 5 volt reference circuit. The current travel through the resistor of the currently active mode. The current is then returned to the transfer case shift control module through the switch signal circuit.
The transfer case shift control module constantly monitors this signal voltage to determine the condition of the mode switch circuit.
When each of the modes are selected they complete a circuit through their own specific resistor. The transfer case shift control module continuously monitors the switch input to determine whether the Neutral, AWD, 2HI, 4HI, or 4LO mode was selected by the driver.

You may want to take this to a repair shop .

There is a switch located in front at the very bottom vent of my computer; what is it for?

More than likely it's a lever to open the case or to take the front panel off.

[email protected] have a 2003 lincoln navigator . the information center keep saying door ajar. i thank a sensor is. where are they located in the door jam?

The door switches are usually located at the front of the door jamb where the hinges are located. Look for a pin-type button sticking out of the jamb. This is called a plunger switch. If you can locate the switch and disconnect the wiring harness, you can use a paper-clip to jumper the wires together to test for a bad switch. Usually a bad switch will cause the interior lights to stay illuminated until the timer tells them to turn off. If this is the case in your situation, you probably have a bad switch/

Case switch connected to motherboard is messed up. i need a new switch for the case or the configuration for the pins on the motherboard to be able to use a new case/new switch

The Power On switch is located inside the plastic Power On button assembly.

It is a Momentary Contact Switch, and is named an ATX power on switch.
This ATX Power On switch I have found fits many computers,

http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html

The plastic front panel of a desktop computer is the Front Panel.
The pin area on the motherboard, that the cables (Wires) from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header.

Tell me the manufacturer name, and Model Number of the computer, or tell me the manufacturer name, and Model Number of the motherboard, and let me see if I can find a Pinout for it's Front Panel header.
(What pins the cables connect to)

Where do i plug in the components from the computer case on my motherboard?

There are a few things you will need to plug: HDD LED, POWER LED, POWER SWITCH, RESET SWITCH. There are others such as USB and Audio. All of the pins locations and settings should be available on the motherboard manual. The pins should usually be located near the battery on your motherboard. ALL of the pin's settings will be labeled underneath the pins, but often hard to see, that's why I recommend reading the manual. The USB, if you have ones that are all separate connectors, goes like this: [+5V/VCC/Power] [D+] [D-] [GND].

Im trying to install dell i530 into Xion II case but cant figure out how the power switch led hooks up?

All of the pins locations and settings should be available on the motherboard manual. The pins should usually be located at the very bottom. All of the switches and LED pins will be different on different motherboards. The USB, if you have ones that are all separate connectors, goes like this: [+5V/VCC/Power] [D+] [D-] [GND]. USB and audio will always be the same.

Locate the hard disk

Laptop hard drives are mainly located underneath. A screw holding down a plastic lid covers the drive. In some cases of older laptops the hard drive is slot mounted and you'll have to remove screws underneath and/or on the side to release the drive followed by pushing a switch which well push the drive out.

Computer light says service 4 wheel drive switch

According to the mechanic who works on my 94 Jeep it's one of three things:
1) Corrosion on the connector to the switch (which is located on top of the transfer case).
2) A bad switch. Part cost about $22.00 or,
3) A bad console display. he says they have had a fair number of console display units fail.
