No more heating, GE Profile Microwave JVM 1870CF02

My Microwave (GE Profile Microwave JVM 1870CF02) just stopped heating food. It had been working, made a click sound and went dead. After unplugging it and plugging back in, everything began working as normal except food no longer gets hot. Any easy fixes? It appears my main warranty is out, but there is a 2-10 year warranty on the magnetron. Is that it? If so, how easy is it to fix if they were to send the part to me? Thanks for any help!

When you hit Start to cook, do the inside light and turntable come on?

    Any unusual noises?

Is it louder or quieter than usual?

Do you have the model number?

These answers will help me judge whether it's in the high voltage
section (magnetron, transformer, or diode) or the control section
(door switch or control board relay or connection).

I think its the mag tube, mine went out the same way. GE will provide the mag tube for free just call them...have a local ge certified tech out to put it in.

In answer to the above questions:
-The light and turntable come on as normal
-no unusual noises
-same sound level
-model #VJM1870CF02
It works perfect, except for the fact the food does not get hot. Thanks for any assistance-
Andy

Ge microwave stopped heating food

The problem is in the magnetron/inverter board if less than 7 years.

Microwave not working, please suggest

Your magnetron tube has failed. According to the warranty on the Profile Series microwave ovens, the magnetron is covered for 5 years from the date of purchase, but labor is not included. I would call GE Customer Service and when they ask for the model number (which begins with JVM) and the serial number, be sure to give the date of purchase as the date you closed on your house. If they insist upon charging you for a service call and labor, I would call my builder's Customer Service Department and demand (very nicely) that they intervene with GE to waive the service and labor charges. That worked for me (Lennar Homes).
