My Microwave (GE Profile Microwave JVM 1870CF02) just stopped heating food. It had been working, made a click sound and went dead. After unplugging it and plugging back in, everything began working as normal except food no longer gets hot. Any easy fixes? It appears my main warranty is out, but there is a 2-10 year warranty on the magnetron. Is that it? If so, how easy is it to fix if they were to send the part to me? Thanks for any help!
I think its the mag tube, mine went out the same way. GE will provide the mag tube for free just call them...have a local ge certified tech out to put it in.
In answer to the above questions:
-The light and turntable come on as normal
-no unusual noises
-same sound level
-model #VJM1870CF02
It works perfect, except for the fact the food does not get hot. Thanks for any assistance-
Andy

owe have the same problem! our microwave seems likes it's working fine but just stopped heating food. it worked last night...
mine has been making a loud noise off and on for a month of so too-then yesterday it did this and now it won't get food hot and is still making the loud noise...i'm getting ready to buy a new one but wondering if i should call GE first? it's 6 years old and out of warranty of course...
When you hit Start to cook, do the inside light and turntable come on?
Any unusual noises?
Is it louder or quieter than usual?
Do you have the model number?
These answers will help me judge whether it's in the high voltage
section (magnetron, transformer, or diode) or the control section
(door switch or control board relay or connection).
