The C143 uses two standard AA batteries. You can use disposable alkaline or lithium batteries, or rechargeable NiMH batteries. You can use any brand batteries, though personally I'd stick with the major brands.

The battery is a KAA2HR, and I ordered mine on Amazon. Kodak brand will be extremely pricey, I picked an off brand rechargeable battery set with a charger that had decent reviews from there and it works great.

Hope you are using high quality name brand batteries. The generic brands do not have the power to boot the unit. If you are using good batteries then the camera needs service / repair. no consumer fix .
hi, what battery are you using? most of the kodak digital camera using AA battery has a problem if you are not using KODAK BATTERY that specified in the battery cover. try to use duracel,energizer battery it will work after 5 to 10 shots of picture only. if you notice also the height of the said 2 battery are smaller compare to kodak batt.that's why the contact between to batt and pin inside of the camera are not good.

its better use Kodak battery for you Kodak camera.FYI there's a lot of brand of AA battery like energizer,duracel and also kodak.if you compare the size or the height of all battery its totally different.especially the kodak are more taller than the other.thats why if you use other brand it works only 5 shots only or less.
you're not completely right. Kodak printer docks normally only charge the Kodak KAA2HR battery pack. It not charges normal Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of any brands.
Hi there. This is a common problem with just about any digital camera out there (even my own). After spending loads of money on top named brands and types i found that Duracell Alkaline batteries lasted just about the longest in my camera which is a Samsung S 500. Even so i would advise that you stock on them because the camera's do tend to eat the battery power.
Many Kodak brand cameras have this problem, and when I say many I mean almost all. The only solution is to try different types/brands of batteries until you find one that lasts.
