Sure you can change it. Just go to image size in your photo software and change it to 300dpi Its what all the professional printing companies suggest you do before you print any of your images. Just do a save as to a tiff file for best resolults If you keep making changes and save over and over again to a jpg file you loose a lot of your quality. changing to 300 dpi doesnt make your image smaller. I printed some of mine for and art show at 300dpi at 11x16 and the people who saw them on display said they were truely amazed that my work had come from a digital camera. I dont remember what mpx your C2040is, I just remember when I owned a C3030 it took pics at 3.4 mpx. which I couldnt print past 8x10, now I have 6.1 mpx

The short answer is you cannot! I believe the resolution of your camera is 1600 x 1200 pixels; if you print this out @ 300dpi. you will get a print size of 5.3 x 4 inches. if you print at 72 dpi the print size will be 22 x16 ins. The 72 ppi that is recorded with your exif data is meaningless.

Cannot transfer images from cameria to computer

Hi!

A simple workaround is to remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in an appropiate card reader connected to your computer. It allows also a higher transfer speed, that's why I allways do so.

Photoshop 7, always have put text in a photo and all of a sudden cannot. Cursor is huge. All looks normal in tools. What to do?

This sounds like it could be a couple of things. First, since the cursor is huge, go up to the menus at the top and choose Window>Character which will open the character palette so you can change the size of the text. Then make sure the text color is different than the backgrd color 'cuz it could be getting lost. Check your Layers palette to see if the text tool worked as whenever you use the text tool it will make a separate layer for the text. If your font size is small and your cursor is still going off the canvas, it could be that your image is very small. Check this by going to Image-->Image size and you can change the dimensions or the resolution. If the resolution is already low (>72ppi) then the image will pixelate when you make it bigger so try to get a higher resolution copy of the pic.

Only 72ppi?

You are mistaken. "ppi" is not a measure of anything useful when considering digital cameras, it is only useful when discussing printers. According to this review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilms9000/ The S9500 has a maximum resolution of 3488 x 2616. This means that when *printed* at 300 dpi, you can get an accurate 8.7" x 11.6" print without any "enlarging" (called interpolation). I would HIGHLY suspect the software used to print the photos, and not the camera itself. For excellent free, fast, and simple organizing and printing software (for Windows), take a look at www.preclick.com.
