Hi,

You cannot downgrade Windows 7 from Windows XP by not reformatting the hard drive. You need to Remove Windows 7 first, before installing Windows XP Operating System. In order to use the Windows XP CD to fully reformat the Hard drive, follow the steps on the link below.

Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.

I reformatted my computer and i cant get drivers

If you have linksys hardware install the cd that came with hardware and get to linksys website and download latest driver. Reformatted cleans drive to zip data and you needed to reload XP to get it going so anything you installed after the system purchase you will have to reinstall.

No windows xp

You will have to reformat it again. its likely a bad sector has been created on the hard disk, and windows file is probably occupying the bad sector. Try to reformat your hard drive. If that doesn't work, try to reformat it with windows 98 bootable disk. If it doesn't work, get another hard drive and test to see if it will work. If that works, then know you may have lost the MBR (Master boot Record) of your hard drive.
