Our tv keeps changing colours to blue red and green

Your television have color problem. That symptom is cause of loose connection or cold solder in chroma section and color output driver transistor of CRT board of your television. You can fix that problem by resoldering the chroma section and crt socket section of your TV.first thing to do is open or remove the back cover of your TV,then you can see the crt board connected to picture tube.Resolder that parts, specially the color output transistor the red, green and blue driver.Resolder also the chroma section. You can see the jungle ic,thats the color ic.Make sure that there's no short circuit when soldering the PCB board. After the resoldering turn on the TV and check if color is normal.Thanks..

Im not sure if vertical output transistors is the prob, but my tv has picture only in the middle vetically, i change the capacitor and ic, but still it didnt work out, pls help.

Hello
Your assumtion is currect. But the vertical output section of this TV has no transistors at all. It is composed of an IC. Check the soldering terminal connection of this IC legs for any loose soldering first. Just resolder all the solder terminals of this IC by applying a little more solder. In most cases this will solve the fault. If not, check all the surrounding electrolytic capacitors to this IC circuit. If found suspected, replace them. Still fault perists, replace the vertical output IC with same type and number.OK.

Green light flashes for about 2 min. then tv comes on the color seems to have too much green after awhile of watching screen goes blue then black then comes back on

you can make sure all the connections that exist on the PCB Board TV is connected, if there are loose you can reconnect. Especially, usually there is often no (tin solder melts) connection between the foot pin of the components with the PCB board in a vertical section and Horizontal section.

There is another possibility it was caused by the failure of existing data in the EEPROM memory IC such as IC C2408, C2404 etc, you need to replace it

Then also you can check on the RGB Board, ensure the 3's Transistor for ( RED,GREEN and Blue ) is OK. if not you have to replace the transistor for GREEN.

My 15 year old Toshiba Televisiononly shows a narrow horizontal band in the middle of the screen. Sound OK.

Hiii fairley,

You aren't specsificly dercribe yor tv set.
For common TV horizontal problem ;i.e : White line accross the horizontal screen, horizontal band,etc..it's can solved by replacing the IC Vertical/Transistor, and olso to replace the cap nearest the IC.

For common TV Vertical Problem :i.e : White line at the center of the screen (top to bottom),Vertical band,etc...It's can cure by Replacing the Horizontal IC/Transistor,and offcurse the cap's.

Tha's what all I know....

Hope can help you to solved the problem.

Thank's

Zenith 25in. System 3 TV. Intermittent problem with color going all red??

It certainly sounds like a drive problem in the set. It could be a bad connection on the CRT socket, a componet on the CRT driver board, a bad drive transistor, a connection between the CRT driver board and the RGB /video jungle IC, or the RGB/video jungle IC itself. If you know how to solder and or have some sort of solid state repair experience, you should be able to find this problem by simply probing around with a wooden or plastic tool tilll the problem arises. If you have no experience, there is no easy quick fix. You should find a local repair person to assist you with this repair. good luck PS Please dont forget to rate this thread.
