My c-740 is experiencing a problem with the "direction up" button on the back arrow pad . In every menu function using the up button shuts the camera down. Is there a factory reset function that might get it working again?
PS looks like a great forum I am downloading the Olympus manual hoping for help but at 56K this is slow & if like the written manual probably very limited in info

Re:
You need to get a copy of CD that comes with your camera. It has the factory settings you are lookin for. If you go to Olympus site im sure they would be glad to help. (NOTE) The paperback manual does (NOT) include factory settings.

How do I restore my Pioneer receiver to factory settings
To navigate to this interface, press "Net" on your remote and then select "Home Menu." Use the arrow pad to select the "Factory Reset" option, then choose "Start." Confirm by choosing "OK" and then allow a few moments for the device to process the request.
that information should be covered in the user manual, but the model numer you provided doesn't come up with any cameras, does it have a simpler name or if you can post me any and all text you can find from the camera. I should be able to help you.
Thanks,
Ekse

The functions available from the arrow pad, which are Self-Timer (arrow left key), Exposure Compensation for adjusting brightness (arrow up key), Macro and Super Macro Modes for close up photos (arrow right key) will all be reset using the RESET arrow pad button. Also, the quality/resolution will be set back to the default of HQ, but settings such as the language, the date and time, sleep time settings are not changed by using the reset button. These settings need to be manually selected through the menus in order to reset or change them.
