Blue rectangle at bottom half of screen??

Looks like a manufactures advertisement, displaying in text all the functions of what the tv can do. When I change the channel or change volume, the blue rectangle will go away momentarily, only to magically POP UP AGAIN, and again, and again. If someone has a solution to this problem, I thank you in advance for the help

Hold down the Rewind button and the Play button simultaneously for about 7 seconds. The TV should turn off. Then turn the TV back on. Go through the setup procedure. The box should be gone. This worked for me anyway. Good luck.

OMG! I cant believe this darn TV didnt have a menu button on the actual TV. I lost my remote and couldnt find a TV code for the life of me for the Universal one I had! The TV was previuosly programmed with just channel 57! And this rebooted the whole thing which allowed it to auto channel search upon powering it up again. Now I have all the channels! I dont mind gettin up n changing the channel manually. THANK YOU!!!

Zenith SL2773W problem

The dark rectangle appears because you have the closed captions on and set to TEXT. Closed captions set to CC1 puts the words on the screen and TEXT puts a black box on the screen. Go into the menu, navigate to the page with closed captions and set your captions to OFF.

My 32 lcd tv a black rectangle apears on aprox,

If it is a large black rectangle that blots out the middle of the screen then you need to check your CC (closed caption) setting. Make sure the closed caption is turned off. I'm not up to date on the newer sets, but a lot of the older ones had more than one CC setting. One setting ran the captioning across the bottom, another put it in a big black box in the center of the screen. Most places didn't support the full text so all that showed was a big black rectangle on the screen. Since I'm not sure exactly what your rectangle looks like, this is my best estimate of your problem. Hope this helps.

Large Black rectangle on bottom half of screen

My mother-in-law had this problem on a Quasar for two years before she finally mentioned it. The rectangle is a text box for closed captioning or for a demonstation list of features, but without the text. I restored the factory presets and poof... problem solved.

Look in the manual and find how to restore the factory settings - it will probably be some weird combination of buttons that you would never guess. On her set, which has a built-in VCR, it was simultaneously pressing "play" and "FF" (on the set, not the remote) for five seconds until the set powered down. Yours will probably be something different but equally odd. That should get rid of the black rectangle. Then you go through the initial setup and you're back in business.

Blach rectangle bottom halfpart of screen

Salutations bachiche13,

It sounds like your "Text" feature of your closed captioning may be activated. It sounds like what you would want to do is go in to your television menu and select CC or Closed Captioning to mute or off.

Hope this helps.
