SC 990 is software performance error. This means The software attempted to perform an unexpected operation.
Possible causes:
1. Software defective
2.Internal parameter incorrect
3.Insufficient working memory
4.When SC occurs, the file name, address and data will be stored in NV RAM this information can be checked by using SP 7403. Note the above data and situation in which this SC occurs. Then report the data and conditions to your technical control center.

This error code could be related to a Physical problem (machine) or Network Problem.

Physical problem:
Try to clean the ID sensor.
Probably you will also need to clean or replace the Drum Unit.

Network problem:
Upgrade your firmware.

sc 990 relates to the nv ram chip on the main board also check the values of the lazer unit are correct and not changed

Did the donner copier have a finisher on it? The code means a miss comunication with the finisher. There is a HD that is used with a finisher. The meter count can not be changed that I know of......The reason it shows 000000 is that the battery was disconnected from the eprom.

SC 990 is a software error. It usually can be cleared by turning the machine off and back on. It occurs when the internal program gets locked up. Sometimes it requires a firmware reload, other times it maybe an indication that your hard drive is on its way out. The best thing I can say, is lets hope it just happened, and will not again!
