Hope you read this message. I just noticed your message today on this site.
I bought an Elonex 705EB for my mum and had the same problem. It's not pressing the select key that changes the time. You must correct the time then press Menu button on yes (I had to press twice in row before it worked). I don't know why it works different from the manual. I found this out through a lot of trial and error!

I suspect that your time zone is set incorrectly and you've got it set to automatically synchronize with internet time server.

In the Date & Time Properties window you should also have tabs for Time Zone & Internet Time.

If you change to your Time Zone and have the automatically synchronize with internet time server active then it should correct the time itself.

DVD Playback is only Black & White

Different areas use different colour systems. The most common types being PAL and NTSC. What I think you might have done is changed the colour type setting to one that is not compatible with your TV. If you have the manual look up the colour settings. If you haven't got the manual look around the main menu for them. If all else fails use the factory reset.

Bought a Archos 7 HomeTablet yesterday and when the battery was fully charged the system is all in GERMAN time date language ets HOW do I convert to ENGLISH the manual is totaly useless

You can change the language by going to Settings->Language & Keyboard Settings->Select Language. Choose English (United States) and all should be well.

Also make sure that you have the correct time zone selected at Settings->Date & Time->Select Time Zone.

Hope this was helpful.
