Broken locking tabs on battery door of KM Z5.Need a new door.

Z5 ?? Why do you need coding? The window mechanism is not coded to the car. Disconnecting the battery does not require any coding when you re-connect it, unless you have other problems as well. If you disconnect the airbag with the battery connected you will have to reset / code out the airbag fault.

Might have broken wiring harness wires that run from the cabin to the door. There is a rubber boot that covers this harness, runs near the door hinges, remove boot and check all wires and if you find any damaged or broken, repair and test auto door lock.

It's locked to network ...You cannot unlock it?What methods have you tried to unlock it..?

Hi If you act quickly you should be able to get the parts through Sony, they purchased the photographic division of KonicaMinolta and part of the agreement was to support existing products, this agreement expires on the 31 Dec 2010.

Probable broken spring within the lock. Remove the door panel to access the lock. These things are held together with deformed tabs, but with a little grinding of the tabs, they can be pried apart. It might be easier to find another lock (new or used) instead of dealing with a pile of parts and a tensioned spring. The lock could be held together with a quick pass of a welder on each tab. My new battery door is now installed! Our local Radio Shack repairman was able to do it and I watched over his shoulder as he did it. Believe me, it is not a job for the faint of heart. The screws visible on the bottom of the camera are just a small part of what has to be removed. It seems there are also a bunch of screws under the rubber on the right side of the camera, and at least some of them must be removed after peeling the rubber off. Even then it was necessary to sort of force the old door off and the new door on. Like I said - not for just anyone!

The Tab that locks the door or click you would say is either broken or the door is out of alignment... might have to remove the tab and purchase and install a new one

I was just trying to solve this exact same problem on my girlfriends A345 and upon inspecting the battery door I noticed a small tab had been broken off. I lined up the tab and just above the memory card where it says push to eject there is a slot. In that slot is a tiny black pressure switch that the broken off tab used to depress. I stuffed a small piece of wire in there and hit power and it works just as it did :) hope this solves your problem as I'm sure these tiny tabs break off without people noticing since the battery door closes and locks without them

UMS mode allows the Z5 to interface to the computer as if it were a removable hard drive. You can then use Windows File Explorer to manage the files in the Z5.

To get into UMS mode, connect the Z5 to the USB port while simultaneously holding down the "return" button (the top of the square keypad) while connecting. This will put the player into UMS mode for that connection period only.

If you upgrade to the new firmware, you have the option of making it always connect in UMS mode.

The steps to install the latest firmware are:
(1) Download version 2.37 or newest of the Z5 firmware http://www.samsung.com.

(2) Unzip it to get the file named "Z5Update.dat".

(3) Disconnect the Z5 from the USB port.

(4) Reconnect the Z5 to the USB port while simultaneously holding down the "return" button (the top of the square keypad) while connecting. This will put the player into UMS mode for that connection period only.

(5) Open a File Explorer window, and find the YP-Z5 device.

(6) At this point, make sure the Z5 is fully charged and has at least 30MBytes of free space.

(7) Copy the file "Z5Update.dat" to the root directory of the YP-Z5 device.

(8) Now disconnect the Z5 from the USB port.

(9) The Z5 will display the option to upgrade to the new software, or to cancel.

(10) Select "Upgrade". This will power off the Z5.

(11) Connect the USB cable to the Z5. Now it will upgrade the firmware under USB power. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB UNTIL THE UPGRADE FINISHES. After finishing the upgrade, new firmware will be started automatically.

(12) Check the version information in the "Settings > System Info > Version" tab.

Now you can turn on the UMS only option.

It is not too easy to change the door, but can be done.
You have to "tear" away the rubber from the handle. There are a couple of screws under the rubber to remove. The righter part of the batteryholder is kinda loose at that point. You can use a little screwdriver to open enough gap from right side from the point A. Then you can slide the battery door loose and replace a new one.
