I just got a Mamiya rb67 on ebay and I cannot get the cocking release lever to move or the shutter for that matter. I didn't want to force anything. I have looked at the manuals on the web, but cannot find the solution to this. Am I missing something or should I start considering bringing it to a pro shop to get it looked up?

Have you tried it without the back attached, or without a dark slide in the back? Many cameras have an interlock preventing the shutter from firing while the slide is in. If that doesn't work, remove the lense and try it all over again - many times on these model's the problem lies in the lense, not in the body.

If neither works, consult a tech. But, expect more in repairs than you probably paid for the camera since these things are going for well under $300 these days.

How do you clean the mirror on the rb67? It's got all kinds of dust. I can see that the deals could start deteriorating eventually. I saw a kit to replace the foam seals around the mirror I'm Adorama but I think that would be more of a future project.. Any ideas on the cleaning of the mirror? I know the only issue is that that dirt may affect the focusing but not the exposure..

35mm slr praktica bca shutter problem.

1) Open the top cover.
2) On the film advance gear, the shutter winding lever is attached to it.
It has screw adjustment there. Unscrew the screw ( not all the way out ) You will need to adjust the wind travel and make the length of the wind lever ( made of spring steel) shorter and tighten the screw.

Hi RMT, I sueest you only one thing. Please visit the service center. Beoause you already cocked the shutter & make it fired. So please follow the link its really very helpful for you.

Pro-S film back doesn't advance film properly.

There is good chance that the back needs a spring replaced. I've seen them fail many times.

My Mamiya RB67 triggers and shutter lease lever works but film advance lever doesn't move. Trigger button fired several times but film advance still showing 1.

This is not the best solution as it indicates a faulty film back. The film should advance without resorting to activating the film-wind release lever. That is only for intentionally advancing a partially exposed roll of film. Make sure the multi-exposure lever is not engaged and that the counter does advance and the red mark disappears as you advance to an unexposed frame.

Mamiya RZ 67 lens is stuck on body

This is likely because the shutter has not been cocked all the way. Return the lens to the fully locked position and advance the film with the lever all the way down to reset the shutter. If it still doesn't work, move the lever to M for multiple exposure, make sure the back is aligned and trip the shutter release. Then fully **** the shutter again by pressing the advance lever down fully and again until it is reset. Then try to remove the lens again.

50mm C lens issue

From your description, Yes. All RB67 lenses have common problems, usually sticky blades. Since there are 2 sets of blades, (shutter and aperture), the shutter blades may be contaminated with oil/debris

Orange Warning Light

I recently had a similar problem and found the answer to be the shutter release on the lens itself.

When the using the shutter release, (mirror up feature), on the lens the shutter release, screw in portion, in the lens will actually will pop out to accomidate for the cable release.

There will be a small red circle around the base of the area where the cable release would screw into.

Try pushing that back in. Worked for me.

Good luck,

James

Film won't advance

Perhaps you've already solved the mystery. There are 2 parts to the back of that camera, the film back + the part that it slips onto. And they have little safety latches/pins that couple in order to advance the film & release the shutter. I'm sure those just aren't in the right place. Here in Los Angeles you could take it to any major camera store or repair shop & they've help you out.
