Go to 'Start' and then Run 1) Delete
all unwanted data from Drive C. 2) Delete
all data that you have copied from Drive C to External HDD 3) Open My
computer and go to Tools---> Folder Options---->Click on View Tab---->
Check 'Show hidden files and folders' and select OK. 4) Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp and Delete
everything that you see inside Temp Folder 5) Go to
C:\WINDOWS\ here you will find folders like $hf_mig$, here you will have to

write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration
utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except
your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without
restart' option.
Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.

and then clicking on the Task Manager Button. In Task manager, click on the
Performance tab and check CPU Usage and PF Usage. PF Usage is an indicator of
memory usage. If one or both of these is high, click on the Processes tab, and
sort the columns by CPU or Memory to see what processes are consuming the
resource. If you are not sure what the process "Image name" is for, Google
the name and you should find what the process is for.
If your CPU and memory usage are reasonable, then you may have a different
issue. Even if you running anti-virus software, it may be beneficial to scan
your PC with another scanner to check for viruses. No anti-virus software is
100% perfect at catching everything. Here are a few good free online virus
