Have a BA TVee 25 Soundbar. Only able to program Volume Up on my remote. Cannot program Volume Down or Mute. Nothing happens except to turn the Soundbar off and on. Don't tell me to follow instructions - I am. Now what?

I had this same problem and it was due to their instructions which do not adequately explain the setup procedure.

On my own, I was successful in programming volume up but that was all. I assumed that for volume down I would hold the power button and the VOLUME DOWN button and wait for the flashing light just as I had for volume up. Problem is, you never get a flashing light.

Today, I spoke with a rep from Boston Acoustics who patiently explained that step one of the instructions has to be done the same way each time as it is the step that puts the soundbar into programming mode.

It is only at step 2 that things change.

The solution is to hold the power button and the Volume Up button every time in order to get the system into programming mode. Once the light is flashing, in order to program Volume Down, you then hold the Volume Down button until the light goes solid. Once the light goes solid, then press the volume down button on your remote 4 times slowly. Works like a charm.

Works the same way to program the mute button. Follow step one to get the unit in programming mode. Once the light is flashing, hold down only the mute button until the light goes solid. When the light goes solid, press the mute button slowly 4 times.

OBTW, this was programmed with a Logitech Harmony 650 remote unit.

Programming time warner remote to boston tvee volume

I had just about given up on programming my Time Warner universal remote with my Boston Soundbar until a mental lightbulb came on. This is a two step process. Step 1: Program your Time Warner remote (I have CLIKR-5, instructions available for other models at timewarner.com) Using Pre-Programmed 3-digit Code method -Turn on soundbar - Press device button (I chose AUX) and OK/Select simultaneously until device button stays lit. - Point remote control toward the soundbar and enter code (447 for Boston Acoustics) - Press the device button again to store the code. The TW instructions say you should now be able to turn the device off to verify that it works, but this is not true for the soundbar. Hang in there with me. Step 2: Program your remote from the Boston Soundbar. - Press the power button and the volume up button simultaneously until the indicator light flashes orange. Here's where the instructions provided with the soundbar fail to explain how to do this. Each button is individually programmed into the TW remote. What you have done so far is enable the remote to accept the programming. - Volume Up: press the volume up button on the soundbar while it is flashing, the light should become steadily orange. - While holding the remote steady about a foot away from the soundbar, slowly press the volume up button on the TW remote four times. The orange light should flicker each time you do, turning green when completed. - Volume Down, Mute, Power: repeat the steps for Volume Up, except press the button on the soundbar you wish program to the TW remote while the soundbar is flashing orange. It should become steady before you press the corresponding button on the TW remote. Good luck, I hope this helps. -Deidre.

Red status light will not go off or change on Boston A TVee model 2 soundbar.

I am also having the same problem. It was working fine until we moved. Plugged it in at the new house and nothing but a red light. Sub is green though.

Yamaha yas-101 uverse codes

I had the same problem with my U-verse s10-10 remote and a yamaha SR 300 soundbar. Here is how I got my volume control (but NOT power control) on the yamaha working:

First - always send volume control to the AUX button:
Press and hold AT&T key and OK for 1 second, release, look for 2 flashes.
Now press AUX button. The AUX button will show a long flash.

Second - Go through the manual programing steps listed in the guide for the AUX button (hold AUX and OK for 1 second, release; 2 flashes, punch in code). But instead of pressing the Power button to try to turn off your yamaha soundbar, press the volume up / down and Mute button. I think the code that worked for me was 4045 but I honestly don't remember.

The key is that you have to send the volume control to the AUX button first or it's all a wash.

Can program up volume but not down or mute

To program the down button, after step 1 of the programing sequence, you must press the down button of the speaker system and then press the down button on the remote four times. This goes for the other buttons (i.e. after step 1 of the programing sequence, press the mute button on the speaker system and then press the mute button on the remote four times). This is a weak point in the programing instructions.

Boston Acoustics TVee Soundbar loses the cable remote training.

get rid of that moxi before it starts on fire.
have charter send out a scientfic atlanta hd dvr, with an hdmi port on it as well. the functionality and reliablity of these boxes greatly exceed moxi. moxi is a power sucking, fire hazard, problem waiting to happen. the only thing it has that is good is the guide format. but you may feel that graphics on a tv guide outweigh the funcitonality of the device. the big square in the front of the moxi was supposed to be a dvd burner, the box has no hdmi, and has a modem in it that is disabled. so its got a bunch of junk on it that isnt and cant be used. if you dont clean the vents on the back of the box monthly it will surely fail.

Not enough IR range to use remote

Get yourself a very thin and small screwdriver. The type that comes in the eyeglass repair kits. Remove the cloth/plastic grill from the front of the sound bar. Locate the IR sensor in the center of the bar. Pry the dark red filter off the IR sensor and leave it off.

Problem solved, greatly increases range. I have read that there is a clear replacement cover you can buy but whats the point?
