I have a argus DC 2000 camera.Recently updated my computer to XP Pro.argus advises me that they have no such update drivers due to the fact that camera was made 2 years previous to Xp.Is this camera a total loss? What can I do??
Jaimie's solution would be a good one, but it seems Argus uses a proprietary format for the Compact Flash card, if you use the CF slot. I haven't had any luck at all trying to read that on any camera kiosk. So, best bet is to get an older, XP Home or Win 98 PC to use to download through the USB cable. I own one of these cameras, and it is a pain every time I try to use it!
Here's an update. I just installed the drivers on XP Pro! www.arguscamera.com is where you can find the drivers. Do the install, but then to make it work you have to go to device manager in windows, and look at the mystery USB device (your connected and powered-on camera). Choose install driver, and browse to c:\windows\inf. The OS should find svstream.inf, which is the driver package that XP needs for the camera. Install that, and shazam! The camera's pictures magically appear in the DC2200 device you will see if you open My Computer. Good luck!

No, this camera is not a total loss. You can always use a card reader in which you insert the camera's SD card and transfer your photos to your computer.
