I have installed the palm software several times and sometimes the dialog comes up asking to synch with outlook (during the installation.) I would like to use this feature but it does not come up on the PC (it did in the past but not now). How do I turn that on? Is there a way to turn this feature on without re-installing?

Re: Synchronizing with Outlook
If the installer cannot see outlook, then it will not show the option. I think the Zire 31 CD has an option on it it that allows you to switch when you put the CD back into your PC. It should be visible on the autostart screen that pops up when you insert the CD.

1. Upgrading to Outlook 2010 with a profile that contains at least one DAV and/or OLC 12 account
If your Outlook profile already included a Hotmail account, Outlook 2010 shows a dialog to indicate that in order to continue synchronizing between Outlook and the service you need to download and install Outlook Connector 14.
Clicking on "Upgrade Now" automatically starts the download of the OLC 14 package. Should you choose "Remind me later" you will still be able to browse the previously downloaded data for the Hotmail account, but you won't be able to synch until OLC 14 is installed.
Once Outlook 2010 is open the following message will be displayed in the main Outlook explorer if OLC 14 is needed:
Should you chose not to download the OLC and dismiss the message, Outlook offers another redirector in the BackStage - just select the Hotmail account in the account picker and the following prompt will appear:
Clicking on the Upgrade Now button will automatically start the download of the OLC 14.
2. Adding a @hotmail.com, @live.com or @msn.com accounts through the Add New Account dialog
Should you choose to add a new account that uses the @hotmail.com, @live.com or the @msn.com domain and OLC 14 is not installed, Outlook 2010 will prompt you to download and install it:
Note: Should you choose not to install the OLC 14, Outlook 2010 will attempt to establish a connection to the server using the POP protocol. However this method only allows downloading your mailbox, while Outlook Connector also lets you view and update their Hotmail and Windows Live Inbox, Calendar and Contacts in Outlook.

Are you trying to get your data in both Palm Desktop and Outlook?
Are you saying that you wish your data to synch three ways - between your handheld + Outlook + Palm Desktop. This is not an entirely tenable strategy as it is impossible for synchronization software to understand what it would mean if you altered the same event in both Palm Desktop and in Outlook.
If you need to keep a copy of your data in Palm Desktop, PocketMirror has an advanced feature for making onetime backup copies. Open the Chapura Settings dialog, choose your username and then tap on Settings. You will get the option for each of the Outlook conduits to make a one time backup of your data to Palm Desktop. This is a really useful feature for making sure you have an offline copy of your data outside of Outlook.
Have you downloaded the outlook Conduits?
Have you downloaded the outlook Conduits from the CD?
I had a similar experience recently to discover that I hadn't completed the installation.
Hope this helps
Remember to change (HotSync, Custom) settings before you perform your sync or else you will get duplicate records as I did. Good luck.

Switching between Outlook and Palm Desktop synchronization
Depending on your device, you might be synchronizing with Outlook using the Palm™ Outlook Conduits, or PocketMirror conduits from Chapura (find out which). Both of these types of conduits are installed and activated when you run the CD-ROM that came with your device.

Switching synchronization: Palm Outlook Conduits
These instructions apply to the Palm Outlook Conduits that are included with handhelds released after late 2003. The Palm Desktop installer determines which conduits are activated during the installation process.
If you want to switch synchronization from Palm Desktop to Outlook, or vice versa, you'll need the original CD-ROM that came with your handheld.
1. Insert the CD-ROM into your computer. A window should open, containing the contents of the CD-ROM.
2. From the Discover Your Handheld screen, select "Install Microsoft Outlook Conduits" or "Change synchronization method" (depending on which device you have)
3. Follow the instructions for switching synchroniztion from or to Palm Desktop or Outlook.
4. See our note about data transfer
Remember: Some applications will continue to synchronize with Palm Desktop. Use Palm Desktop to manage applications such as Photos and VoiceMemo
You supplied very little detail here on what you are starting with and what you hope to finish with. Are you synchronizing today and where does the data reside on your PC - in Palm Desktop?
If you have all your data in the m105 and wish your Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Memos to synchronize with your Outlook profile, then install the Desktop software that come with the m105. You will be given the option to synchronize with MS Outlook during the installation. Choose this. The data in your Outlook profile (root level folder only) will merge with the data inside the m105.
Simplest method for 'switchers':
Assume that your Treo 600 has the data you need (it does but you are focusing on your Palm Desktop in your question).
Install the Palm Desktop software again using the CD but this time, choose the option to synchronize with Outlook during the installation process. This will switch the synchronization to Treo <-> Outlook instalead of Treo<->Palm Desktop. Assuming your Treo is recently synched with Palm Desktop, this will merge the data you have in the Treo with that of your Outlook profile.
Yes - the software was included.
Your CD software allows you to select synch with Palm Desktop or synch to Outlook. As long as Outlook is installed on the PC, the CD software installer will see Outlook and offer you this option. So the answer to your question is - reinstall the software and take the option to sync with Outlook when it is offered.
PS just in case you have Outlook Express, this is not the same things as full Outlook. Outlook Express requires third-party software for synchronization of its email database and of its addressbook (actually Windows Address Book WAB format).
