You can reinstall the sound drivers from the Acer recovery management, to do so:
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Restore> Restore Application & Drivers> Contents> Select Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam and install it

OR

Got to http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/
Select the computer model
Select Operating System installed on your computer
Click Drivers
Select WebCam (Acer Crystal Eye) and download it.
Once downloaded, install it on your computer.

Right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Hardware tab, then click on Device Manager. Expand out the Imaging devices. If Acer Crystal Eye webcam is not listed, proceed to Acer's website to download the drivers for the webcam specific to your Acer's make/model.

If Acer Crystal Eye webcam is listed, double click on the Acer Crystal Eye webcam listing. This opens a properties box. Check that the Device usage is set to "Use this device (enable)." Select the Driver tab to check on the driver's status. Choose to update the driver. This might fix it. If not, return to the General tab and click the Troubleshoot button.

when i put on webcam i only see a gray screen?????

Update the drivers. The Crystal Eye is not the best camera out there. I have had to update mine 7 times and only owned it for 3 months
