I wish I had found you two weeks ago! That help, though simple, was fantastic - thank you. I had no idea that Pocket Mirror was on the CDROM as it was set on autostart so it launched into the Palm Software installation straight-off. I've got a few problems to sort out with it but so far it has Sync'ed the: Addresses To Do Email not yet read Calendar ** It insists on spending a very long time thinking about 'backing-up' the handheld databases and I have to force it to close. Any ideas how to solve that little problem? I'm just about to leave for Paris so I can't pursue this anymore today, so if I may I'll follow-up at the end of the week. Meanwhile thank you for your quick response and excellent instructions. Regards

Windows XP, Palm m130, & Outlook 2003 - Sync problem

It sounds like the computer is noticing the USB activity (from when you hit the HotSync button) but for some reason it can't find the correct information/driver. I'd first try a soft reset (stick a paper clip or the end of your stylus may screw off to reveal a pin, in the hole at the back of your palm) Don't worry, it won't delete your info UNLESS YOU HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON (SO DON'T). Once it's booted back up, try the hotsync again. If that doesn't work, you may need to find the usb driver for your palm and reinstall it. This could just be copying a file from disc, or reloading your Palm Software. Good luck

Vx to Outlook 2002 failed - no connection Established

hi, on ur palm tap on home , u would see hotsync icon tap on that , on the hotsync page , u would see ur name on top or just welcome , make sure u see direct serial on the same page , tap on the top left corner where it says hotsync in words , in the drop down , tap on lan sync prefs , make sure local hotsync is darker in shade. on the pc make sure u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , if not , click on start , click on all programs , choose palm desktop , inside that u would see hotsync manager , left double click on that , if it doesnt appear at the bottom right corner , try 4times , then if it still persists , restart the pc and try again. Once u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , right click on that , left click on setup , left click on local , choose a different com port , reduce the speed to 9600 , click on ok restart ur pc and try hotsyncin , if it doesnt work try the previous step again and do not forget to restart ur pc , and then perform a hs , it will work .... How do I NOT HotSync with Outlook?

Insert the installation CD and select Change your synchronization method. If that doesn't work, or the option is not available, in Windows, click Start>Run then D:\English\PostInstall\OutlookSwitcher.exe /palm (where D: is your CD drive AND your install CD is inserted; also check to make sure the file is at that location).

You never mentioned your drivers, they could be out of whack. Try updating them or get a Microsoft compatible driver. Check the device manager for problems.

How do I update my palm with outlook???

1. make sure Outlook is running on the PC 2. make sure hotsync is running - right click on the hotsync icon in the system tray - click custom - set all the things you "want" to sync and setup the way you want them (i.e. handheld over rides PC, they both sync, etc) 3. have VersaMail configured and setup as well...that's where your Outlook mail will come from 4. Push the hotsync button on your cable/cradle This should get you started. If I missed a step, it should be obvious in the Hotsync log, so check the log after doing a Hotsync.
