The safety lock is usually triggered because there is a possible safety issue with your machine. As such, it should be reset by a technician.

SOURCE: tension settings for the babylock sewing machine

I found that the tension setting of 1 worked. The main problem was the machine had thread wound around behind the bobbin. I had to take the plates that are under the foot out, clean out the thread, oil the machine and use a spool of thread that had more weight than the little spool I was trying to use.

SOURCE: Babylock espire bobbin sensor not working

This is normally caused by lint in the bobbin area, the lint blocks the sensor causing it to be blind. Try cleaning the area and see if that helps.

How do I oil my babylock serger

That depends on the model. The Babylock Triumph (BLETS8) does not get oiled by the user. However, the Babylock Diana (BL480A) needs to be oiled at 4 different points. See the picture on page 63 (page 64 of the PDF) of the manual. Babylock has the manual here: https://babylock.com/resources/5148/download . Current Babylock sewing machine and serger model manuals are available here: https://babylock.com/support/machine-support .

Please add a comment with your serger model. I'll try to find the oiling diagram, if the machine needs regular lubrication. Do not oil any sewing/serger machine unless the manual recommends that as part of the maintenance of the machine. Some Babylock sewing machine dealers will provide you with the manual, if it is available for a small fee. The Babylock serger that I have access to didn't come with a manual. However, we were able to get one from the dealer.

I hope this helps.

How to change the thread spool pin on babylock model esp

Depends. Some spool pins simply push in and snap in place, but as many machine brands existing, there are probably double the different spool pins available...

http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/babylock-esp-sewing-machine-parts.aspx If you order from one of the online vendors, they will probably be able to advise how to install it.

The computer pressure foot button on the espire does not work

If it's an electronic presser foot lift you will have to take it to a babylock dealer for repair. If you mean the automatic stop/start button, make sure your foot control isn't plugged into machine first. If it still doesn't work, you will have to take it to a dealer for repair.

The safety device has been activated

Turn the machine off. Check for a broken or bent needle or a bird's nest in the bobbin area. Sometimes when I try to put an extra heavy piece through the machine I' ll get that message. The most common reason for the error is a broken or bent needle.

I lost the power cord to my baby lock espire when I moved. How do I get another one?

Contact a local dealer and they can order you one. If you don't have one in your yellow pages, I believe you can find one at Babylock.com

How to get the safety device actived error to go away and sew again???

The reason you are getting this messege is because something is in a bind, could be a shaft or even on of the step motors. You will need to get in into your local Babylock Dealer and they will be able to find the bind fairly easily.
I personally have 25 years working on Babylocks and am familiar with this problem
