Intel D845GVSR has problem with Display IC. The board is so old that I can't see the IC number. Please provide the IC number and suggest if it is available and for how much? Original problem:- There is no display.

You are needed to re-install chipset(845) driver. IVE had the same problem and installing the mainboard drivers will fix your display problems. Would suggest you make a backup of the download for future use as Intel may not carry the drivers in their archives forever. The link below is for support and downloads from Intell for PC.

Some old board doesn't work with Win Vista/7. Please check the compatibility in microsoft website. The 845gv chipset is one of them. W7 only install a generic vga driver. Intel website also don't driver for win7.

However, use the latest XP driver. Save it to your desktop and right click it and run it in compatibility mode for XP service pack 3 and then run as Administrator, it will then install as if it were running on xp and then you will be able to have normal graphic.

Hi, you can go to Intel's web site & download the video drivers. Since you do not have the motherboard CD, suggest you download all the drivers listed on the Intel site. Than burn the drivers to a CD for safe keeping. Once on the site, scroll down to Drivers. Download & install or run number 3, (Video: Intel® Extreme Graphics Driver for 845 Chipset-Based Intel Desktop Boards).

looks to me you've got a faulty motherboard....but have you tried your memory,processor, and video card on another motherboard??? just to be sure....please try....

your i/o controller ic {SMSC} fail or rtc circuit fail there is two most possibility
