Question about Palm m130 Handheld

New Computer, Palm M130 won't Hot Sync

I am brand new to this forum. I have a Palm M130 that has not been Hot Synced since 11-04 due to not having access to the software to load on my computer. Last night I downloaded the new software and designated outlook as what I would like to sync with. I went through all of the help categories in Palm and tried everything suggested without success. I have never had this problem in the past. I am running Windows XP on this new computer. When I press the hot sync button on the base, my M130 responds, and it seems like the computer is going to respond based on the sound it makes, but it never opens up. I made sure that the HotSync program is open, ect. but to no avail. I hope that listed everything you experts need in order to give me some tips. Thanks in advance!

Needing set-up discs...

Apart from blogs around the internet, the remainings from the old Palm devices (had a Tungsten W myself, back in '04!) were acquired by HP. They have shrunk all into this page, but I suppose you have already been there, right?

My tungsten t5 is resetting itself each time i push to hot sync

It seems software related. After back up your date perform full reset to set it to factory default. That will resolve the issue if its software related

I updated the Palm m130 to Z22. I lost all my addresses on the m130 whe installing the Z22. Is there anyway to retrieve the lost file?!

The solution to this problem is.. if the m130 still has all the data, then

you need to perform a custom hotsync to overwrite all files on the computer

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Handheld overwrites desktop’ and click ‘OK’.
  4. Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.
  5. ‘Install’ and ‘Install Service Templates’ should be ‘Enabled’.
  6. Perform a ‘Hotsync’ operation by pressing the button on the Hotsync® Cradle, or Cable.

Now that the files are on your computer you need to sync them into the new palm

Same steps but this time Desktop Overwrites handheld

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Desktop overwrites Handheld’ and click ‘OK’.
  4. Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.
  5. ‘Install’ and ‘Install Service Templates’ should be ‘Enabled’.
  6. Perform a ‘Hotsync’ operation by pressing the button on the Hotsync® Cradle, or Cable.

Lost items

Try iSpin. Sometimes, programs are not in the Launcher screen, and you need another launcher to dig into the RAM and open it there. It has happened to me.

Windows XP, Palm m130, & Outlook 2003 - Sync problem

It sounds like the computer is noticing the USB activity (from when you hit the HotSync button) but for some reason it can't find the correct information/driver. I'd first try a soft reset (stick a paper clip or the end of your stylus may screw off to reveal a pin, in the hole at the back of your palm) Don't worry, it won't delete your info UNLESS YOU HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON (SO DON'T). Once it's booted back up, try the hotsync again. If that doesn't work, you may need to find the usb driver for your palm and reinstall it. This could just be copying a file from disc, or reloading your Palm Software. Good luck

USB Connection

Do you have the USB option turned on in the HotSync Manager? Have you checked the item called Local USB in the HotSync Manager menu. This check mark ensures that HotSync Manager is listening to the USB ports on your PC for a HotSync request.

Cannot sync outlook calendar

1) Only one username to use. 2) Not sure about this one. It was working fine exactly as I have it setup now. The only thing that changed is I reinstalled the software, did a hard reset and setup a profile.

HotSync Issues

Hi, connect your wife's palm to the pc , click on start , go into all programs , browse for palm desktop and inside palm desktop you would see mail setup click on that .... Regards
