To access the internet with your wii console you'll need either a wireless router/gateway, or a wii wired LAN connector.

1. Power on your Wii console
2. Access the "Wii Setting" menu by selecting the circular wii icon in the bottom left of the screen and then choosing wii settings.
3. Use the arrow on the right of the screen to move to page two, then select "internet".
4. Select "Connection 1 ' None"
5. Choose "Wireless Connection" (assuming you have a wireless router), then select "Search for Access Point".
6. Wait for your wii to scan, then select your wireless network, and if prompted enter your wireless network password/key. Then click "OK".

You should now be able to connect to the internet. If your Wii runs a connection test and it proves unsuccessful it will display an error code. If you get Error Code 51330 or 52130 this means the password you entered does not match the password on the wireless network you are attempting to join. Connecting to enternet

Make sure you have created a NEW internet connection in your Wii System settings. Since you have changed your service, your old connection settings will no longer work. Go to your system settings from your main Wii menu, and select internet connection to set up a new one.
If you have already tried to set up a new connection and still cannot connect to the internet, make sure your router security settings allow your Wii to connect to your wireless internet.

How to set up nintendo wii internet

  • 1 In order to set up your Nintendo Wii internet connection, you need to have high speed internet service, such as DSL, cable, or fiber optic.

If you want to use a wired connection for your Wii, you will need to purchase the Nintendo Wii Lan Adapter and a long ethernet cable to reach your router or modem. The Wii Lan adapter is available from many sources for about $30 and the cable will cost you around $10 or more. If you want to plug in your computer and Wii at the same time, you will need a router. You do not need a router if you are planning on unplugging your computer when you use Wii over the internet. Honestly, wireless routers cost about $35 and don't require a cable, so I purchased a wireless router instead. Plus, I don't want an ugly cable running across the room.

If you still want to use the Wii Lan adapter to connect to the internet, here are the steps to connect your Wii Lan adapter to your Wii game system:

Make sure your Wii game system is turned off.

Attach the Wii Lan adapter to the USB port on the back of your console.

Connect the other end to an ethernet cable that goes to your router or modem.

    Turn your console back on.

If you are using the Nintendo Wii Lan Adapter to connect to the internet, follow this step. If you are connecting to the internet via a wireless router, skip this step and go to step 3.

To connect your Wii via a wired connection:

    Go to the Wii Menu.

Click on the round Wii button on the lower left corner.

    Click Wii Settings.

Click the right arrow to go to page 2.

    Click on the Internet button.

    Click Connection Settings.

    Click Connection 3.

    Click Wired Connection.

Your Wii will do a connection test and hopefully everything will be all set. You are now finished.

    Connecting to internet

if you really can't connect, try to start setting up again the internet settings/connection from scratch.make sure your router is working fine and you haven't changed anything on it including firmware upgrades.your router setting must be such that it's allowed to accept your wii to connect.if your router has either wep or wpa password, this should be the same one you need to key in on your wii internet setting.say you have wpa, most likely you need to select wpa (AES) on your wii internet setting.finish the wii internet set-up,your wii should be able to scan your router's ssid and connect to it.no guarantees, hope this helps.
