Whirlpool AWM 6145/3 On all wash cycles gets stuck on the rinse/spin stage: stays at 1 minute to go forever and never performs final spin. On spin option it will not spin but the pump tries to pump water out. Clicks constantly.
That's a timer problem. Check on the user's manual on how to reset the timer settings. The timer can be replace if found defective but you need a pro technician to do it.

White Westinghouse, Frigidaire washer: - wont spin
One of the largest problems with this washer has been the lid switch, you must check it out with a ohm meter, if the switch quits you will lose power to the motor. Things can get caught between the tanks as well, this machine is bad for the center bearing tightening up and the spin will quit. This is a new close up picture of a typical lid switch. You can temporarily join the wires together to test the motor and washer operations.

Using the correct belt on this style of washer is important, there are several different belts depending on which model and year washer you have. The belt is a cloth belt which slips in the spin mode and acts like a clutch. Here is some possible reasons for why the belt might burn off....
1.Rusty motor pulley. Residue from burning belt must be cleaned off thoroughly from the motor pulley.
2.Spring adjustment-must allow the belt to slip and act as clutch when getting up to spin speed.
3.Something stuck in the pump.
4.Drain hose must be clear and allowing the water to clear machine properly. The rubber backflow flapper in the drain is giving some problems. Some say to dispose of it.
5.Do not try to pump water higher than five feet.
6.Water siphoning from the washer and washer agitating dry.
7.Warped and wobbling transmission pulleys. I sell a lot of these that have come loose and wobbled out the center of the pulley.
8.Tight center bearing. Replaced along with belt and water seal kit. Something between the tubs causing drag on the wash basket. This would also cause slow draining problems that could burn the belt.
9.These washers are known for the transmissions locking up in agitation and cooking belt...turning transmission pulley will free it again (like installing belt) and it will work for a couple loads....look at the transmission carefully.

You could be right as the cycle repeats itself (showing 1 minute left ) from wash to rinse but withou any long spins.
The User Manual < Link Here > does not tell me how to reset the timer.
I have removed a number of hairgrips from the filter at the front and some light brown slime was expelled from the outlet hose when I first looked at this problem.
